IIM Trichy has won the South Zone Finals of the Annual CFA Institute Research Challenge 2015-16 in India, consecutively for the second year and will be representing the South Zone in the national finals to be held on January 2016.
The team from IIM Trichy, comprising of Keshav Pasari, Saumil Dave, Shivesh Bajpai, Sumit Singh and Vivek Agarwal, were adjudged unanimous winners at the South Zone Finals, held on October 20, 2015, in Chennai.

The CFA Institute Research Challenge, considered as the Investment Olympics saw more than 4000+ students from 865+ universities worldwide in the local rounds of the competition in the 2014-15 edition. In India, it is conducted at the 5 zonal levels, with 47 of the country’s best management institutes participating. This year, the South Zone finals saw teams from 9 B-schools including ISB Hyderabad, TAPMI, IFMR, IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode present their research analysis and answer probing questions from an eminent panel of judges, with IIM Trichy emerging as winners.
The team will now head to Mumbai for the national finals, where they will face off against the best teams in India. The national winners will then advance to the Asia-Pacific finals in the hopes of winning the Asia-Pacific championship.
