Yes! this is what IIM Trichy stands for me. Holding onto all the emotions while leaving office and coming to college all over again was a strenuous decision to make. With all sorts of thoughts running through my head and confused as to if I would be able to make it through the next 2 years after working for almost 2 years.
I reached Trichy on 19th June, it gave me the vibes of homeliness, a place devoid of chaos and the land of many hardworking leaders who belonged here. Filling my lungs with fresh air and amazed with tradition and culture present in every nook and corner, I reached “The Place”, IIM Trichy.
As soon as I reached, the security guards were the first people I met. Extremely humble and down to earth they instructed me with everything I would need to know to settle in as comfortably and as quietly as possible. Soon after this, I met my batch mates, few very quietly while some very loud, followed by few awkward smiles and handshakes. Seeing everyone only made me realize that what I was going through was what everyone was going through. The same evening few of us went around the college to explore the entire campus, to our surprise the campus was more complete than we expected it to be. With the ‘State of Art’ library facility to be opened in a month or two and a building dedicated to just too perverse the culture and tradition, it is the only campus available in India. Making it unique in its own way.
Apart from the world-class faculties, the students are supportive and walk shoulder to shoulder with each other, giving hand to those left behind. These values are mostly only read and transcribed but here at IIM Trichy I could see and feel the warmth and compassion everyone has for others.
On the 26th of June, a very well planned and organised orientation program which lasted for a week was conducted by the administration department. This only shows how the college involves and appreciates each and every committee and person. To embark on our journey into this new world of management we had few guest lectures, outbound activities and cultural programs which were planned as a part of the orientation. With so much done in such little time, IIM Trichy has shown me why it is probably one of the best decision I have taken and how I would take these opportunities and let my wings spread through the horizon to fly high yet still be humble.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Given a chance, I would like to work in the ADITYA BIRLA FASHION AND RETAIL LIMITED group. With the fashion industry being very dynamic and fluctuating it would provide me a more robust exposure to all the situations possible where I could try my best to apply whatever I have learnt over course of two years in practical use. Being one of the oldest retail group in Aditya Birla Conglomerate and a mentor to guide me through the drastic market changes would allow me to enhance my abilities and skills.
