"IIM Udaipur’s Admission Committee will decide the MBA program requirements for the Institute and the final number of candidates who would be called for the PA process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates is found to be less (or more) than the required number of candidates to be called for PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score, would be reduced (or increased) to get the desired number of candidates."
Step 2 - Creating weighted composite score based on evaluation criteria
Once the PI process has finished, IIM Udaipur will calculate a weighted composite score which it will then use to create a merit list for admission to the MBA program. This year, IIM Udaipur has assigned 60% weight to CAT 2021 scores, 15% weight to PI performance, 9% weight for work experience, 9% weight for academic profile, and 7% weight for diversity.
Component | Weight |
CAT 2021 Score | 60% |
Personal Interview | 15% |
10th | 2% |
12th | 2% |
CA/CS/ICWA | 1% |
Graduation | 4% |
Work Experience | 9% |
Academic Diversity | 2% |
Gender Diversity | 5% |
Please note - Candidates who do not obtain certain minimum scores in the PI will not be considered for the merit list. The minimum scores will be decided by IIM Udaipur.
The following would be the basis for scoring candidates in respect of their academic profiles with or up to under graduation:
Range Of Marks | X | XII | Under Graduation |
---|---|---|---|
<= 60 | 0.2 | 0.2 | 0.4 |
60.01 to 64 | 0.4 | 0.4 | 0.8 |
64.01 to 68 | 0.6 | 0.6 | 1.2 |
68.01 to 72 | 0.8 | 0.8 | 1.6 |
72.01 to 76 | 1.0 | 1.0 | 2.0 |
76.01 to 80 | 1.2 | 1.2 | 2.4 |
80.01 to 84 | 1.4 | 1.4 | 2.8 |
84.01 to 88 | 1.6 | 1.6 | 3.2 |
88.01 to 92 | 1.8 | 1.8 | 3.6 |
92.01 >= | 2.0 | 2.0 | 4.0 |

What Does IIM Udaipur's 2021 Selection Criteria Mean For You?
With a 60% weight for CAT 2021 scores and 15% weight for PI performance, effectively, 75% of the weighted composite score is in your hands. This is more or less true for all CAP IIMs. Your academic profile will account for 9% of the total weight, of which 1% is for professional programs like CA and CS.
Candidates with work experience will be assigned extra marks, though those with less than or equal to 6 months or more than 60 months of experience will be awarded no marks for work experience. Female candidates (especially non-engineers) will get a significant advantage in IIM Udaipur's 2021 admissions process. Read IIM Udaipur's official admission policy document here.
