Being an omnipresent conglomerate, ABG, like for most of us, has positively impacted my life too. Peter England and Van Heusen have been a part and parcel of our corporate lives for ages. Likewise following my father’s and grandfather’s footsteps, I welcomed Peter England and Van Heusen in my professional life. From Being a part of my undergraduate college company’s placement formals to being as my first suit, ABG has always been my constant partner through all phases of my professional life. Like its tagline ‘build beautiful’, Ultratech cement was a key partner in building my family’s dream home. The trust and reliability attached with its brand, is the main factor that it is a part of millions of houses. Campaigns like ‘What an Idea Sirjee’ and ‘No Idea then Get idea’ attracted me to buy my first Idea sim card 10 years ago, which has continued to be with me till date. The excellent services have helped the brand to sustain itself through the tough periods in the telecom sector. My family also comes as an enthusiastic investor for ABG’s capital. The rich history and legacy of the company has gained our trust and confidence to invest our money in ABG. My family is also an ardent purchaser of clothes from pantaloons. Impressed by its latest fashion within budget they are always the first ones to visit the store. We call it the family store as it is where our three family generations shop for ourselves and one another.
How have you made an Impact
I describe myself as a perseverant individual. I always believe that failures are a part of our lives but we have to overcome them in order to emerge as winners. During my middle school, I observed that I was becoming an introvert. I started avoiding public confrontations to the limit that I even avoided my friend’s company. It was primarily due to my stuttering. But soon I realized the problem and with the help and motivation of my parents and teachers alongside support from my friends, I started to attend therapy sessions and consciously took efforts to interact with my social peer groups again. Slowly and steadily, I took steps towards improvement and was soon confident enough to represent my school at inter-school debate competition and elocution. In my college, I was a part of the core team committee for marketing and sponsorship, the role required me to interact and connect (network) with people in my senior and junior batches. Similarly, I was also in the anti-ragging committee of my college, which required us to interact intensively with junior batches. These profiles came as a challenge to me where I failed multiple times but never ceased to learn from my failures and move ahead. Striving forward, I have represented my company at various platforms, like financial and council meetings. I believe that perseverance has helped me develop and transform me successfully in many phases of my life. I also believe that like me, ABG group also connects with the values of perseverance, as it has proven its mettle through time and ages. The group successfully strived through the difficulties of British era, showed resilience and growth during license era and has been striding forward through the post liberalization era too.
