Hence we at InsideIIM decided to give an opportunity to students across MBA campuses in India to openly talk about their favourite professors and let others know how their contribution is making a significant impact to their respective lives.

Enthralled by the overwhelming 1000+ responses we received from MBA students across Indian business schools, we decided to share the names of all the professors with the highest number of votes from different B-schools.

About Professor Majumdar

With a PhD in Development Policy from IGIDR, Professor Saumen Majumdar, an eminent economist, has worked as an Assistant Professor for years at IIM Ahmedabad and later worked for GE Capital International Services and Centre for Infrastructure and Regulation at National Council of Applied Economic Research.

He later decided to come back to teaching and joined IIM Trichy as an Associate Professor in the year 2011. With an impeccable academic record, Professor Majumdar doesn’t only bring his experience to the table but ‘helps create interest in the subject for students’ as well. Some students on the campus even term him the ‘coolest professor ever’! His easy-going nature with the students and style of teaching is what attracts most of his students at IIM Trichy. “He teaches the concepts in a story form, which makes you take an interest, even in a boring Economics class”, writes one of the students in his response.

While he imparts the much-needed education to these students he reminds them every day about the ‘importance of being humble and calm’ at all times. No wonder students at IIM Trichy love Prof. Majumdar so much!
