Aditya Birla Group entered my life when i got my first phone via Idea sim card. It connected with me at a tender age when all i wanted was to own that cool thing which everyone in my class had and which gave me the feeling of being an adult. It gave me pride of owning our home grown company's product and exceeded my expectations in terms of their services even in tier 3 cities. As i grew my association with the group increased. Now, it not only affected my personal life but also my professional and social life. Allen Solly became my go to brand for my office outings, Forever 21 has my all time favourite casual brand and Van Heusen as my choice for formal clothing.
This group has made me its consumer for forever now. But sill, it has not stopped surprising me. My new discovery is its retail brand American Eagle which will soon replace Levis completely in my wardrobe. The group has consumed me in ways i never want to get out of and has taught me to embrace change for good.
HOW I OVERCAME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS?
Life is not a smooth walk but filled with challenges and constant change. It depends upon the person to make the best of their resources and improve with every step. Life tests our values, beliefs, will power and what not. But as they say if we had no winter, spring would not be so pleasant.
I faced one such challenge during my graduation. While preparing for CAT exam, first i struggled with Verbal comprehension section of the exam, then with Logical reasoning and then with Quant. In short, i had to work hard in all the sections in a time span of 8 months. I soon realised that i need more than class teachings to get my dream percentile. So, i consulted my Quant teacher regarding my concern, and fortunately, he was able to guide me in all the three subjects. With his guidance i started my journey.
First, i started with VARC section. I had to develop reading habit for this and had to broaden my reading sphere from philosophy to politics to fiction. I read one newspaper along with practicing comprehension passages everyday for 3 months. For the other 2 sections practice was the key for me. As advised by my teacher, i didn't solve every piece of material which i got from my institute but chose my few and re-practiced them over and over again. This helped me in honing my skills. To get new papers i practiced CAT previous years' papers and my institutes' weekly tests. I scored satisfactorily and gained experience for my future.
This stint of my life taught me a few lessons; you don't need everything in life, just learn how to make the most of the things available; if you shoot for the moon, you'll at-least land among stars; one right person can make all the difference.
