Poojit Popli

What is it that will ensure your survival through a rigorous MBA course at SIBM, Pune possible? For me it would be to have a good sense of humour and utilize it whenever the pressure is unbearable. When we meet at our hostel rooms after a hectic day, he always has a comment to add about the day that would literally make you laugh your fatigue away. When you first meet him, you will be inclined to believe that he is ‘the studious guy’ that every batch has, but on the contrary, he employs a lot of his free time into video editing and learning new photo editing tools. He aspires to be a stand-up comedian some day and my best wishes are with him.

Rigzin Deldan

On my second day on the campus, I am listening to a lecture, not one in the class but one in my hostel room about the importance of ME time. Rigzin, a B.A.(Psychology) graduate, gives a lot of importance to self-analysis as a part of personality development. He understands and interprets situations like no one else in our batch. He engages in random conversations about the feel of dewdrops on your naked feet, how sunflower makes people happy, cycling as a stress buster etc. He has no designated group of friends and keeps hopping around trying to know everyone on the campus. He is a self-taught Ukulele and Flute player, also he carries his Ukulele daily to the college so that whenever he gets a chance to entertain a few people, he’s ready. Ladakh to Delhi to Ahmedabad to Pune – enjoy his stories if you get time.

Sanjam Thapa

What is it about the nature that you like the most? Sanjam answers, “Positivity and sense of belongingness.” It is hard to explain to what extent Sanjam enjoys his time with nature but I would simply add this – He makes it a point to walk 2 km from Hill Top to Hill Base and walk back to the top regardless of when the academic time for the day is done. He has a closed group of friends and generally keeps to himself. Luckily I am one in his friend circle and let me tell you he oozes positivity. Honesty is one of the core principles he lives by.

Joseph Yejarla

You would have already guessed by the size of the photo that it was hard to track him down on any social or professional media. In the age of 4G and potential 5G markets, Joseph still uses a 3G enabled phone and although he has screen touch phone, he uses number keypads on them like a person from last decade. In short, he is not very tech savvy, but one thing that I learned from him is to “have faith in the supreme power, something good is planned ahead”. He is a very religious person and has extreme faith in his god. A great volleyball player and idolizes our honorary ex-President, APJ Abdul Kalam.

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited:

Retail in the Fashion Industry has never been more important. People want to buy branded clothes to wear and more importantly, they should be trendy. ABFRL tries to satisfy that need with its label like Louis Phillippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Forever 21 etc. Also with its retail fashion chain like Pantaloons, ABFRL tries to provide a launch pad not only to its own brands but also to others. Working with ABFRL will provide me with an opportunity to put my creative and communication skills for creating and expanding the market reach.
