Part A- I could never help but hide the sorrow when my friends used to share the little and amusing stories and moments that they have lived with their grandparents. I had always craved for this pure form of love. When my grandmother passed away, dada had always kept himself isolated from us due to his own misunderstandings. The only time he used to call me was on my birthdays. I used to stay awake till midnight not to cut the cake but to pick up his call just to add one more call each year to the bag of my share of happiness that was never going to fill, at least that is what I always thought. It was before my 22nd birthday when finally, all the family issues resolved, and dada came to live with us. But life had something totally unexpected for me in the box. With a good CAT percentile, I received calls from all the premier institutes of India which made dada feel very proud of me. He wanted to gift me something for the first time in my life.

So, he took me to Peter England showroom in Jaipur to buy me some formals and a suit for the upcoming interviews. This suit was not dear to me because it was the first formal suit of my life but because I received it as a gift from someone who I have always idolized. ABG now has one more story to add to its diary.

Part B- I have always been ambitious to excel in playing all types of guitars. When I was in 8th standard, I heard my first Pink Floyd song – Wish You Were Here. I was so amazed by the lead guitar in that song that I wanted to take up guitar as my hobby. But my parents had always wanted me to concentrate in my studies rather than distracting myself in other activities. So, I could not learn playing guitar at that time. During my 9th standard, I decided to start learning how to play guitar on my own. So, I saved up the little money that I could and bought a second hand Indian Givson acoustic guitar. I started practicing and learning on my own under the guidance of my friends and some guitar theory books. But then the pressure of 10th boards cut my time of learning how to play guitar by almost all. I rarely got time to practice in between the school, tuitions and self-studies. Once I joined engineering, I again picked up my hobby and this time I was not ready to give it up. Within a year, I played in all the college festivals, acoustic nights, karaoke nights, and in the clubs around the college campus. By the end of second year, I gained interest in classical guitars, so I again saved up some money and bought a Yamaha C40. It took me 2 years to get well in playing fingerstyle. By this time, I decided that I am not going to give until I learn how to play every different kind of guitar. Recently I have bought a Yamaha Pacifica electric guitar and I wish to get better at it so that I can move on to 12 string acoustic guitar. It is never easy to pursue your ambitions. No matter how many roadblocks are on my way to my destination, I will keep up the energy and excitement constant and constantly move towards my ambition.
