IIM Trichy was started in 2011 as part of the 6 new IIMs, which was set up as a result of the Eleventh five-year plan. In addition, in just 7 years, it has climbed up the ladder and is ranked among the top business schools in India, ranked 14, 13 and 15 in the past three years of the nirf rankings, which evaluates colleges at various parameters such as Teaching, Learning and Resources, Research & Practices, Graduation Outcomes, Outreach and Inclusivity, and Perception.
The state-of-the-art campus, which is spread across 170 acres has all sorts of the facility. The Harvard style lecture hall gives which facilitates discussions in class and improves the learning experience. The faculty here are among the best in the country in terms of their experience and knowledge. The faculties are alumni of the leading B-schools of India and abroad. The student-faculty ratio is 10 and is among the colleges with a high student-faculty ratio.

There are several things, which makes IIM Trichy unique. For example the Harvard style lecture hall, which is built in a way to facilitate active learning. As for most of the courses, the pedagogy involves case-based discussion, which also incorporated IIM Trichy’s motto which is “Knowledge is endless”.
The other unique thing about IIM Trichy is its own Make a difference (MAD) project in which students work on social issues and that also brings a lot of experience and helps us in becoming more socially responsible.
During my around 1 year stay in IIM Trichy, I have realized that this college is not only about work and learnings, the overall experience has been really good. With the kind of facilities which we have got along with the student quality here. The students here are from different backgrounds and different parts of the country, which helps in a lot of the learning process and helps us in exploring different cultures.
IIM Trichy is among the few colleges in India, which are CFA Institute recognized and we have won the CFA Research challenge 3 times in the last 4 years.
IIM Trichy is differentiating itself at many levels along with maintaining a top-quality learning experience.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
If given an opportunity to work in any of the ABG company, I would choose Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL). As a finance, a major student here in IIM Trichy, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd. would give me a good launching pad to my career. The company has been growing at a good rate and is rated among the best companies to provide financial services.
