The Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur had the privilege of hosting Mr. Pranav Prasoon, Head of Human Resources at Renault India Private Limited on February 27th, 2020.
A beloved alumnus of IIM Lucknow and a distinguished captain in the Indian Army, he has had commendable experience in managing the entire gamut of Leadership, Human Resources Management, Training and Development, Risk and Change Management, and Operations Management. His passion to represent the struggles and sacrifices of the armed forces drove him to publish the best-selling book, “THOSE UNKNOWN”. On the 15th of February, he was honored by the World HRD Congress who awarded him with the Top HR Minds of India award.

Although Mr. Prasoon served in the armed forces and carried with him the quiet dignity and nonchalance of a veteran, one could observe that he was very approachable. Commencing his speech on a light humorous undertone that would continue for the rest of his lecture, Mr. Prasoon explained to his crowd on what leadership really means. He began his lecture by explaining the importance of bringing love to the workplace. Substantiating his claims with ample anecdotes from his own eventful life, he further went on to explain the importance of taking initiatives and how it can lead to tremendous organizational success and personal fulfilment. He spoke about the soul connection that happens in the first job of an individual’s life which was a topic of his own reckoning that his audience could completely relate to. Answering the numerous queries students had in a manner that is unique to him, Mr. Prasoon went on to explain the importance of asking straight yet subtle questions. He further demonstrated the importance of teamwork and motivating and carrying your team. He concluded his lecture by instilling a few words of wisdom in his inquisitive audience.
The students of the Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur are ever grateful to have the opportunity of learning from such as esteemed personality. We are truly thankful to him for sharing his time with us and we hope to host him again soon.
