When you think about an MBA college, the image that comes to your mind is a corporate looking campus located in the business area of a metropolis. This is exactly what I thought of before joining SIBM-Pune. But when I came to the campus for the first time, what I saw surprised me (thankfully).
The campus of SIBM-Pune is situated on the outskirts of the Pune city; some might call this city the IT hub as well. The campus is situated at the steps of the picturesque Lavale town on the hill-top. When you are driving towards the campus, the way the city transitions into the hilly terrain with the change in demography is amazing.
To reach the college, you first have to enter the initial gate at the base of the Lavale hill. After going through that initial check, you have a take a winding road which takes you up the hill towards the college. On the way up, you get to enjoy a very scenic view of the outskirts of the Pune city and the hills surrounding the area. Once you reach the top of the hill, you are welcomed at the main entrance of the SIU campus of which SIBM-Pune is a part of. The feel that you get once you reach up the hill is breath-taking. You feel that you are transported to a small hill-station. The weather also compliments these thoughts as it is very unpredictable. It rains on the drop of a dime and it is usually cloudy with a cool breeze flowing through.
The views that you get of the Pune city, as well as the surrounding areas from the campus, are superb. You can gaze out of the windows of your classrooms into the vast expanse of the scenic beauty that is present. In the winters, if the same windows are kept open, clouds and fog enter the same classes making the campus even more picturesque.
After sun-fall, the campus becomes even more scenic. The campus is like a beacon on the top of the hill and the city surrounding the hill lights up. You can only imagine of such things but the campus gives us all. The stress of the course and the projects, all goes away the moment you sit, take note of your surroundings and observe. It also provokes thoughts in your mind when you are gazing and inculcates an appreciation for your surroundings.
Since the campus is a lush-green area with a lot of greenery, the diversity of flora and fauna found is also to be noted. There have been multiple books which have been written on the same which shows the importance of the area the campus is situated in.
If philosophy is not your cup of tea, then the campus also provides us with by-cycles to move within from hostels to college, high-speed Wi-fi connectivity as well as all the possible amenities one can think of (sports, hostels, food, etc.).
Thus, I would think I am very lucky to be a part of this institute as it has allowed me to learn and grow in such a conducive environment.
Which ABG company you want to work for?
Product development and customer experience, both of these terms are the core of what forms marketing. ABG has a diverse set of products from multiple segments which are constantly developed and improved as per the requirements of the customers. I would like to be a part of one of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. The varying brands and the diverse set of offerings of the same as per the customer’s requirements interests me. I think I would be able to learn as well as use my knowledge for everyone’s betterment.
