Lavale hilltop. Which other campuses could boast of such a unique location, then our very own Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. The winding road leading up to the institute is scenic and refreshing. The building visible upon entry from the main gate is covered with the flags of multiple countries signifying the motto of Symbiosis University, that is “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” translated as the “World is one Family”.
The campus truly lives up to its motto, as it houses four institutes within it- SIBM, SSBF, SITM and SIMC. This ensures that there is a very healthy mix of students from varied backgrounds, and belonging to many different nationalities. It is quite an experience to be able to find students pursuing areas like Business Management, Banking, Telecom Management and Media Communications all within one campus, leading to very healthy and enriching conversations. This ensures there is a constant buzz on campus, with a variety of events and activities always on the spin.
The world-class facilities too help in the overall learning in the best manner possible. The campus has umpteen sports facilities enabling students to pursue activities such as Basketball, Cricket, Football, Swimming, Badminton, Gym, etc. along with various indoor games as well. These activities truly help students unwind and promote the best kind of sportsmanship amongst students. Furthermore, there is a tradition of “Vande Mataram” playing on loudspeakers in the hostel at 7 a.m. It is definitely the right thing to instil discipline and humility for everything ahead.
Apart from this, the scenic beauty on this campus definitely differentiates it from a lot of other campuses in the country, and it is extremely conducive to learning. The moderate weather, coupled with the view overlooking the hills is quite the sight. This also ensues the presence of a wide variety of flora and fauna, and a lot of creepy crawly friends to be precise. Therefore, in a nutshell, my campus is unique because of its people and location.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
ABG intensively works in contributing towards the social and economic development of the areas that they operate in, and they strive to work towards the development of the different tribes and communities that reside around the same. The different development activities incorporated in areas like Education, Healthcare, Social causes, Infrastructure development and Sustainable livelihood are widespread. I want to work for a company which recognizes its responsibility towards the society and takes well-planned measures to achieve the same. Hence, I want to work for Aditya Birla Management Corporation in their Corporate Communications and CSR division. I believe that corporate-led developmental activities is the way to shape the society.
