Challenges are part and parcel of life. Some challenges have been overcome on my own and some with the help Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd's presence in my life

Overcoming personal challenges and growing

Sports have always been my outlet of negative energy and stress. I was a university-level badminton player and a district-level kickboxer. When I graduated from college and stepped into the corporate world, sports and health, in general, took a back seat. The need for comfort food and lack of time for exercise has never reaped positive results. My case was no different. Four years after graduating, I took a look at myself, not just at my physical health but also my mental health and realized that I had stopped focusing on what matters. I had become overweight. I was struggling with anxiety and I had lost interest in learning new things. I lost the curiosity of a child.

I then asked for help. As humans today, we think that asking for help makes inferior and that's wrong. When we ask for help, we realize where we’re going wrong and how we can fix it. I first asked a dietician to help me bring my physical health in order. I followed a meal plan that was sustainable and I started kickboxing training again. The progress I was making kept me motivated. A part of me always wanted to run a marathon and it finally seemed like a good time to start running. I am now ten kilograms lighter and now training to run marathons.

I started traveling and reading more in the last six months. Disconnecting from the everyday pressures helped me process things better and I was able to reduce and manage stress and anxiety.

When my physical and mental health got better, my curiosity for learning and growing came back. During my summer internship, self-learning increased leaps and bounds in the field of marketing analytics. I was able to apply what I had learned and was able to contribute significantly to the organization I worked with. I am now learning several analytics tools out of my new found curiosity and aim to apply the same in the future for college projects and for work purposes.

Elevating the look to elevate the confidence

Fulfilling big dreams sometimes requires dressing the part. Dressing the part to fulfill the big dreams on student budgets? That has always been a struggle. The retail industry is vastly unorganized in our nation. The fit, cut, style and fabric have no guarantee. If one does as a piece of formal apparel at a local store, there is a possibility that they will not find the same piece again and the tireless search for formal wear starts again. As a student on a budget, that struggle to find quality and fit at an affordable price can be frustrating

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL) made dressing the part for all budgets possible. Brands like Pantaloons, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Louis Philippe brought style and quality at prices that both men and women on restricted budgets can afford. I can sense the confidence level rise exponentially when I wear a well-fitted formal western wear or ethnic wear at work, meetings, and interviews and at other formal occasions.

While happiness is an inside job, being well dressed and looking good on the outside makes me feel good on the inside. I am more confident and more focused on my work because I know that the apparel is trustworthy and taken care of by the brands mentioned above. An add-on is that the apparel offered by the ABFRL brands are up to date with the current trends in the fashion industry and are not outdated. All the above factors make the ABFRL brands irreplaceable in my life.
