With increasing competition, it’s a dream of every person to get an MBA degree from a prestigious B-school. I was not any different from one of those many people and the journey for this started with the preparation of SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude) test. After all the hard work, I received a call for an interview from Flagship College of symbiosis league - SIBM-Pune. All my efforts had paid off and it was time to ace the interview and make it to SIBM-Pune.
With this in mind and with more efforts put in for the interview, it was a time for the interview day. Being born and brought up in Mumbai, I always have imagined college as one tall building with small or no campus around it. This perception of mine totally changed when I first entered into SIBM-Pune and that was the moment I said to myself “Boss MBA to yaheen se karna hai !”
And with my efforts and God’s grace I made it to SIBM-Pune. I was one of those lucky people who got an opportunity to study at place which has rare combination of excellent academic infrastructure and amazing campus.
It was the long waiting time between results and joining my dream college and it was really difficult to control my excitement to join one of the beautiful campuses in country. Finally, the day came and with lot of dreams on my mind I left Mumbai for SIBM and for the exciting journey which lied in next 2 years. People go for treks or for some peace of mind on hills, but I was the one who was going into hills for studying for next 2 years. One starts to get a feel of amazing campus when it enters into sus village and greenery you find is very a rare sight for a person who has lived in jungle of cement for years. Once you reach the hill-base there lies a road ahead with trees on both side with lots of twists and turns to reach to the campus, as if it is telling you what twist and turns lie ahead in 2 years of MBA journey. Once you are done with all the twists and turns first thing you see on campus is big statue of Devi Sarasvati. Watching that statue and with coming from Maharashtrian family in which every child is taught at least one prayer of each God I started saying Shloka about Devi Sarasvati in my mind.
It’s the college upon which mother earth has bestowed all its magical beauty. It’s perfectly situated in the lap of Lavale Mountains and touching skies. One can notice different shades of skies here which are very rare to find. The campus is spread over the large area with bicycles kept at every point to roam around the campus. The constant sound of birds chirping in woods gives you a perfect feeling of nature.
Looking at all this while walking to my hostel rooms I was hoping to see all this every morning when I wake up from a sleep and again I was lucky enough to get allotted with a room with most beautiful view of mountains from my room. Waking up every morning to this view was going to be a real bliss.
The campus is well planned with 3 more colleges in the same campus and various sports facilities. Mess is located perfectly between the campus and hostel which serves variety of food. It was time to explore the classroom area and again view from some of the classrooms was really unique. It’s the campus which is really difficult to explore in a day or two but then I had 2 years in ahead of me to explore each and every corner of the campus and with this on my mind and with all this unique natural beauty it was a time to start my MBA journey with the hope of seeing totally different person I always dreamt of being after 2 years.
