Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to wake up to the chirping of birds amidst a sea of lush greenery? Or look out of the window and behold the sight of a picturesque landscape of sloping hills pockmarked with sparsely populated habitats, with the misty fog adding a shroud of mystery?Well, seems like you would have to go on a vacation to a hill station… or do you really?
What if I told you that my Campus engages me with these thrills on regular basis! Yes, you guessed it right… I extend a warm welcome to the world of SIBM Pune- where each day is a unique experience in itself. Situated on a hill-top in Lavale, Pune, the campus caters to the spirit of wanderlust that’s intrinsic to our very existence. Fondly referred to as the “Hilltop” by students and staff, SIBM Pune provides a scenic, conducive environment amidst nature to bring out the best in you!
What makes it even more special is the fact that we are home to 3 other Symbiosis group colleges in the campus such as SITM, SIMC and SSSS, that allows us to freely exchange knowledge and ideas with students from varied backgrounds of study. This broadens our perspective of the same issue and enriches our diverse thinking capabilities.
The emphasis on health, physical and emotional well-being, the top-notch facilities for gym, swimming, squash, cycling, table tennis, badminton etc. are a boon for sports enthusiasts. The availability of a mental health professional at our wellness center is another significant add-on. These go on to show the Campus’s belief in the all-round development of an individual. SIBM Pune’s outlook is very much rooted in culture and traditions and this is manifested in the marvellous marble statue of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of learning, occupying pride of place in the Academic Block.
For those interested in a mesmerizing view, the dedicated viewpoint “Aqua Point” serves as the benchmark. Add to that the helipad and Open Air Theatre. If you are lucky, during the rains you will also catch a glimpse of the two peacocks in the campus. Isn’t that interesting!
Situated a little far away from the main city, the Campus has a self-sufficient feel to it with all basic day to day necessities and a lot more being easily available at the on-campus shops. This is in tandem with the goal of self-sufficiency that we as students and future professionals should try to imbibe.
The hilly landscape with the ups and downs also bear symbolic significance to me. They are a constant reminder of our roller coaster journey of two years with its fair share of highs and lows.
All these factors together make the experience of studying at the SIBM Pune a unique and diverse learning experience. After all, not often do we come across such an institution that sets such a high benchmark for its peers in terms of providing a conducive and integrated learning environment to its students, thus giving them a big push in the right direction.
