The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam, is a public business school located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is one of the twenty Indian Institutes of Management. The institution started the first batch of its Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management from August 2015. Visakhapatnam (also known as Vizag) is the largest city and the financial capital of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The city is the administrative headquarters of Visakhapatnam district and the Eastern Naval Command of Indian Navy. Its geographical location is amidst Eastern Ghats mountain range and the coast of Bay of Bengal.

Selection Criteria
The admission process seeks to identify the most promising candidates for the PGP batch of 2020 for IIMV. IIMV uses multiple parameters, namely academic performance in 10th standard examination, 12th standard examination and Bachelor’s degree examination, candidates’ scores in CAT, as well as performance in Personal Interview and Written Ability Test to judge the suitability of candidates for the PGP program. Relevant work experience, if any, is also given weight in the selection. Evaluation by multiple criteria is also consistent with empirical research on recruitment and selection that shows greater efficacy of recruitment processes that uses multiple criteria. The CAT score, over and above being a selection criterion, is also used to establish the minimum level of proficiency that is expected from the candidate in respective areas as indicated by section wise minimum scores in the CAT. Multiple criteria are used to arrive at a composite score for every candidate, which is used to select candidates

1. PhD Programme
PhD Programme of the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) is a research-intensive doctoral programme aimed at imparting high-quality training in research. IIMV is under the mentorship and guidance of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), the acknowledged leader in management education.
The normal duration of the programme is five years, comprising two years of course work, a comprehensive examination and thesis work consisting of a thesis proposal defence; and, a final thesis evaluation and defence.
2. PGP
The two-year, full-time, residential Post Graduate Programme, leading up to Post Graduate Diploma in Management, is designed to equip students to take on leadership roles in a rapidly changing global scenario. It has been accorded equivalence with Master’s degree of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for the purpose of admission to higher studies.
3. PGPDGM (Blended Learning Program – On Campus / Off Campus)
This Post Graduate Program in Digital Governance and Management (PGP-DGM) leading to the award of Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is being launched by the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV), an institution of national importance, under the aegis of the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Govt. of India (GOI).
