Prof. PD Purkayastha is GIM’s Professor Of The Year 2021! With 23+ years of professional experience in market research and independent consultation, training, and teaching, Prof Purkayastha is known to offer his students what they call an ‘A Level’ learning experience. Prof. Purkayastha did his PGDM from Goa Institute of Management and went ahead to do his Master of Science in Applied Mathematics from Jadavpur University. He also did his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Jadavpur University. Prof. Purkayastha is an independent consultant and corporate trainer in areas related to Data-driven Decision-making & Marketing Analytics. He has been involved in assignments with corporates like ITC, Emami, HPCL, ONGC, Amway, Business Standard, Haldia Petrochemicals, Titan, and RPG Group

Prof. Purkayastha led IMRB International in the capacity of Group Business Director and also served as Associate Director of The Nielsen Company. He has had a diverse teaching experience in his career as well. He has been Adjunct Professor at Praxis Business School teaching Advanced Marketing Research and Marketing Analytics for Data Science and PGDM programs. He has also taught courses related to Analytics, Marketing Research and Consumer Behaviour as Visiting Faculty at IIM Calcutta, XLRI Jamshedpur, XIM Bhubaneswar, IIM Udaipur, IIM Lucknow, and BIM Trichy.
