I was one of those who faced extreme health issues in their childhood. I suffered from liver expansion for the majority of childhood which slowly began to reflect in my physical state. I was not able to perform any kind of extracurricular activities which further escalated the problems. But it was due to my father’s passion that I slowly started to get up and do some physical exercises to start with like skipping and pull ups. It all started in class V and after a year of steady training, I decided to try my luck in the Annual meet. I failed miserably which demotivated me. I was shocked to see the kind of appreciation that the winners got and I badly wanted the same. So until then, it was my father’s passion that was driving me but after that incident, something clicked inside me and I decided to train hard no matter what and become an athlete. From then on, I started to train hard to the best of my abilities and again participated in class VII annual sports festival. I fared well as compared to previous years, but could not bag my prize. But I realized that it was not enough and decide to train even harder. I started getting up at 4 o clock everyday and go for 15kms of intensive jogging. I became the 800m champion in class VIII as well as class XI. I represented my school in district level and won the gold medal. I went on to represent my school in All India Inter Delhi Public School (U-14) and bagged the bronze medal. This trend continued and I ran many marathons and was also the marathon champion in my college, BITS PIlani, Goa Campus. This story shows that nothing is impossible if we have the zeal to achieve it.
