“Aditya Birla Group” is a name that doesn’t need an introduction especially to Indians. I personally can relate to Aditya Birla group through its products which I have come across in my day to day life. Aditya Birla group is present over 14 industry sector- Vodafone Idea Pvt Ltd, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, Ultratech Cements and the list goes on. Their products and services have always been part of my life. Being an ardent user of internet and mobile phone, Idea and now Vodafone Idea has played the biggest role. I remember the first phone my dad bought had an idea sim, even now I have a Vodafone connection which actually shows their presence in my life. As we all have become more dependent on internet, service providers have an eminent role to play. To get the best in class clothing, brands like Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen and Peter England are the ones that I would prefer. Rather than going to different stores for all these brands Pantaloons is where I would shop as all these brands are there under one roof. Being a car enthusiast and having a passion for driving I spent most of my free time in car. Fuel efficiency, grip and control depends upon properties of the Tyre. Tyre has carbon black which plays a major role in their properties. Being the world leader in carbon black manufacturing and supply it has enabled Tyre manufacturers to make more stronger and safer Tyres for customers like me. The list doesn’t end here more than being a direct user of its products, indirectly we all would have been a consumer at some point in our life, making it a big part of everyone’s life.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
Challenges have always been part of everyone’s life, it’s about how we make use of it. The learning that we get from these experiences are incomparable. Challenges that have pulled me down the most are the one’s which taught me the most. It helped me to be mentally strong and made me a better person. When I think about challenges the one that comes to my mind is during preparation for MBA exams while I was working. Managing both studies and work was really tough. I was working in Ericsson India Global Services Pvt Ltd as solution integrator, realizing that a good business idea can bring about social and economic changes in a society and me pursuing a career in management, would empower me to contribute for the same. Also realizing that a management or an organisation brings about a change in the society, not just through the services or products, also by uplifting the life's of many those who are dependent on it. Understanding MBA would get me one step closer to my aspirations, I started with my preparation. Preparing for around 8-10 months taking out 4-5 hours from the tight schedule of work was challenging. I used to attend classes early morning around 5:30 after which I used to go to office. Taking out time from tea breaks and lunch time I used to prepare in office. Managing work and studies was really tough and at times the pressure really pulled me down. Keeping myself motivated and focused helped me to overcome these challenges. After months of hard work, admission into one of the best B-schools in the country was a proud moment for me.
