Part A
Aditya Birla group is a premium multinational conglomerate which offers services and products that are of wide range and variety. Aditya Birla Group has garnered a reputation for making products that symbolizes perfection and quality. Many individuals and especially Indians feel a special connect with the Aditya Birla Group because of its involvement in multiple sectors. It goes without saying that Aditya Birla Group has had a huge impact on my life.
Even though I have lived majority of my childhood away from India, I still find it fascinating to see the popularity of Aditya Birla Group. It certainly has done justice to its motto which is “Taking India to the World”. My father and myself still buy our clothing from “Peter England” and “Louis Phillipe”. When we would visit India, we would shop at Pantaloons. I would buy my formals from “Van Heusen” and even shopping for my clothes for my interview for my interview for Indian Institute of Foreign trade was done from Van Heusen. I wouldn’t be wrong in saying Aditya Birla Group has a great impact on my choices. Some of my favorite brands and products came from the Aditya Birla Group and I wasn’t aware of this fact till I started preparing for my interview process for admission in Business Schools. Some of the brands of Aditya Birla Group are so popular like the Ultratech Cement, Forever 21 and Allen Solly overseas that I almost thought they were international Brands. The success of Aditya Birla Group explains us the success of Indian businesses in the overseas market.
Many a times people have obsession with Foreign brands but we don’t understand how well our Indian brands have performed overseas and how incredible they are to use.
Part B
ABGLP is a brilliant in which people drive to become excellent leaders irrespective of the challenges on the way. I believe in order to become a successful leader we have to learn from our failures and challenges. I come from a family that has a strong background in Engineering and medical. Thus after 10th, I was encouraged to take Science as my subjects for 11th and 12th.I studied for my engineering entrance exams and managed to get a seat in a very decent college for engineering and also securing high marks in grade 12. Everything was set in life, except the fact that it wasn’t!!. I realised my passion was not in Engineering but actually in the field of management and finance. My family was shocked with my decision but I decided that even though I realised my passion late, it would still be an act of ignorance if I don’t follow my dream. It was hard to convince my parents but they agreed to support my dream. I decided to do a Bachelor in Commerce. It was truly challenging learning concepts of finance and compete with students in a field I had no previous experience but as Management was my passion, I managed to top my batch. In 2019, I joined the batch of 2019-2021 of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade which is truly an incredible opportunity for me to learn new things and enhance my skill set. There is a weird perception in our country that Engineering is a superior profession than any under graduate course in management.
There is a weird perception in our country which says that Engineering is a superior qualification than UG course in Management and finance. A leader must accept challenges and failures and face them head on. We must always try to follow our passion and learn from failures that come across our ways.
