"Do you even know what is the meaning of a 'philanthropist'?" the interviewer asked me when I mentioned that I wanted to be a philanthropist in the future in my answer to his question. I replied with confidence that 'philanthropist' is a person who loves mankind and works for its well being. Being a person who has been associated with social work for a long time, I realized that the lack of opportunities that students of our age have of working in the social sector made the interviewer think that this was a very unconventional dream for a student who just passed school.

In the hustle of studying and managing college life, I realised that I was not able to pursue my unconventional dream that always made me proud. Along with my friends I then decided to start NGO Navaagat. With a number of donation drives, fun and educational events for the underprivileged, awareness campaigns and three successfully running projects on social entrepreneurship, public cleanliness and on financial literacy we are doing our bit to bring the 'change we need'. We are also working on an online platform to bring together various NGOs to provide the students opportunities to work in the social sector. This would never make anyone think again that being a philanthropist is an unconventional dream for a student.

Aditya Birla Group and its role in my life -

Aditya Birla Group has been one of India's most prominent business houses since Independence. We have always heard about Tatas and Birlas and their contribution for the development of industries in India since our childhood. It has deep roots in the Indian history as it started business in critical sectors hundred years prior to India’s independence. Aditya Birla Group employees more than 120,000 people from 42 different countries and it helps in sustenance of their families.

One cannot imagine their lives without the involvement of Aditya Birla Group. It is India’s largest network provider and India’s top cement manufacturer. Aditya Birla Group offers various products and services for the average Indian consumer. The sentiments of consumers are attached with the brands of Aditya Birla Group. My father used ultratech cement for the construction of his dream home, even though it was available at a higher price than its competitors the choice was ultratech cement as it had the feeling of trust associated with it.

I shop for my daily needs from More retail store and also shop online from abof.com.

I have also interned with Aditya Birla Health Insurance. It was a great learning experience for me to work with this company. Aditya Birla group is truly an employee and customer centric organization. This company is focusing on making their customers and employees healthy by giving them benefits and rewards for staying healthy. I have also invested in birla sun life mutual funds, which is one of the top mutual funds in the country.

Aditya Birla Group has played a big role in the lives of people around the world which is evident as more than 50% of its revenue comes from its overseas operations.
