The success of Aditya Birla Group since the independence of this great nation is a well known fact supported by various facts and figures. What I would like to talk about here, is the impact of Aditya Birla Group in my life. Recently my sister invested heavily in the Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual equity linked saving scheme and she couldn’t be happier about it, because she was associated with such a prestigious firm. She is an Income Tax officer and an MBA graduate, she had all the facts and figures from the different investment opportunities and she chose Aditya Birla Group to invest into because she connected with it like we connect with music, it touched her heart like a tune does. This faith reflects in the fact that ABFSG is among the top 5 fund managers in the entire nation, which really says it all. Talking about the entire nation my mind turns towards their telecom subsidiary, Vodafone Idea, the very fact that they started Idea in a joint venture with North America’s largest telecom service provide AT&T shows what a giant it is. I remember my first day in college back in 2014, we were supposed to choose a service provider for ourselves for the next 4-5 years of my life. I remember not hesitating for a single second and going straight in and grabbing that Idea sim packet, I knew what I was getting, a personal touch, something that I could trust in times of need, something reliable and trustworthy. It stuck with me through my 4 years at college and never once gave up on me or put in a spot, Idea and Aditya Birla Group always, always came through for me, like it does for everyone, because that is what we get from Aditya Birla Group. The biggest impact that the Aditya Birla Group had on my life was when my family was building a new home 3 years back. It was all coming along extremely slowly, the choosing of an architect, of a contractor, of tiles, but the one thing my father was sure about was that we were going to use Ultra Cement for our home. One day I even asked him why he was so sure about the cement that was going to be used in the building of our home, and he had a simple reply, he said,” Son, I trust the brand”. That hit me really hard, the importance of trust in our world, that is what the Aditya Birla Group is for me in my life, Trustworthy, something me and my family can depend on, something we can put our lives on the line for. I don’t know what would the world be like if there was no Aditya Birla Group, but I know one thing for sure, nothing would ever be the same without it.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far-
As a child I used to be an introvert, to climb out of that crucible I decided to join various extra curricular activities like cricket, table tennis, music, debating, hockey etc, along the way I went to The Doon School which helped me hone my life skills. I engaged with people from various sphere of lives and learned a lot from their experiences combined with mine and it helped me climb out of the well I had put myself in. It was a learning experience, one that when I reminisce about gives me motivation to achieve more, to aim for more and give my all. I have had good guiding figures in my life, like my family, who have guided me through the rollercoaster that is life. Due to my involvement in various sports I have faced many health problems which have been my crucible, I had to leave a lot of my sports to have a healthy life in the future, I still play, smartly of course, because that is what life is, deal with a challenge and move on with a slight adjustment. Such incidents have left an indelible mark on me and given me focus and the realisation that life is beautiful and that it is fulfilled only by living it not by sitting it out just because a few letters say so. This gives me the willpower to give it my 110% in all spheres of lives without having any doubts.
