Having ambitions in life is very natural for everyone. Ambition drives people toward their goals. It also helps in improving personal growth and development. Therefore, just like everyone else, I have big ambitions too. The ambitions of my life are to make my parents proud and to become a respected person in the society.

One of the ways of achieving my ambitions was by getting into a well-reputed engineering college. I say this because my family has an unorthodox tradition. My grandfather is an IITian and my father was a student of a reputed state government college. To keep up with this tradition, I was preparing for the MCQ pattern competitive exam.

Unluckily, during my 12th standard, it was announced that there would be equal weightage given to the competitive exam and to the board exam. Since the board exam needed a different kind of preparation, I had to restructure my strategy. Eventually, I did manage to do well on both exams and also got in a reputed college. This event taught me that you should be prepared at all times since the very next second is also unpredictable.

Another challenge that I had was with my behaviour. I used to be short tempered as a person and this had affected me a lot. When situations went bad, I used to curse my destiny. This was creating an obstacle for my growth as I did not use to analyze the issues, which then led to me being in similar situations time and again. Luckily, I happen to follow and love cricket, and seeing MS Dhoni’s success because of his calm attitude put a thought in my mind. “MS Dhoni’s success was large because of his cool attitude in bad situations”. From this time onward, I cautiously made an effort to keep myself calm during tense and bad situations. This has been a big positive that has helped me a lot in my life so far.

Lastly, one other big issue that I faced was that I had stage fright. It is a known fact that without presentations, it’ll be tough to achieve success in life. Additionally, in my under graduation, we were expected to do a lot of presentations. In order to tackle this, I worked hard to reframe my mind, telling myself to follow the “Fake it till you make it rule”. Although I still have this fright, I do pretty good presentations and hope to better my skills in the near future.

I know that these challenges are small in comparison to what is to come but I’m positive that these challenges are making me ready for the future. I won't be afraid of any new challenges that I face but instead would face them boldly.

Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life

Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is one of India's largest conglomerates in India and it is next to impossible that ABG would not have been big in someone’s life. ABG has been big in my life because of a number of things.

Firstly, my family owns a construction business. The most important material for any construction business is the cement. Since this is the foundation for all other work, we don’t take this issue for granted. After being in the business for years, we have now stuck to Ultratech Cement since it seemed to provide the best quality among all. In short, Ultratech cement is our source of “rozi-roti”.

Secondly, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail takes care of all my clothing needs. Being a student at an MBA college, where a holiday is non-existent, having to look good every day is an issue. With the likes of Peter England, Allen Solly and Louis Philippe, I have all the possible solutions in the world to the above problem. While I prefer the above brands for my everyday casual needs, I prefer Van Heusen for my formal wear. Thus, ABG has covered me on my every need.

Lastly, Aditya Birla Group employees 1,20,000 people (as of 2015) in its various firms. Quite a few of them being my friends and close relatives. Since ABG takes care of them and keeps them happy, this indirectly leads to my happiness. The work culture at Aditya Birla group is excellent and ABG gives its employees a perfect work-life balance.

To sum it up, I feel ABG has contributed and has always been contributing to my better living. Directly or indirectly, the Aditya Birla group has eased my life and I thank them for the same.
