Let me go 5 months back and recall my first visit to Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM Pune), The Interview Process. What was my first impression? This is what I want, I will convert this institute. The aura of the campus boosted my confidence which was all I needed. Especially, after the terrible interview experience at SCMHRD, the previous day.
We were then taken to the Admission Hall. On the left side of the room were the entrance and the other side a valley. That’s the best part of the classrooms over here. The scene is so attractive that you never want to miss a class and you would never get bored. How can one, when he gets to see the beautiful sky, lustful mountains and a perfect place for a mesmerizing sunset. On that note, I completed the interview process. Verdict: Converted and then started the wait for joining day.
4th June it said and the journey started. The Induction process is one the memories I won’t forget for long. Starting from the ice-breaking sessions, the out bound program and the bond developed with the batch mates was a great learning experience. The other thing about SIBM Pune is that you need to decide on the specialization at the beginning of the curriculum and you cannot change it. So starts the fight for “Which Specialization?” The alum sessions, interactions with seniors and faculties, gaining the insights from the industry experiences, finally the specialization was locked.
The best part of SIBM Pune is that the diversity not only among the students but also among the faculties, administration staff and the people assisting us in our daily chores. Everyone with different life experiences, different ideologies of things/situations and you get to learn a lot by interacting with people. The campus of SIBM Pune is shared by various other institutes like SIMC, SITM, SSBF, SSSS, SSP, etc which again increases the diversity as you get to meet student from various backgrounds like Sports, Media and Communications, Photography, etc.
So, SIBM is not just about the campus for beautiful sunsets, it is more than that. The people over here, which includes the students, faculties, staff and all those regular visitors, makes my campus unique. The weather is just a bonus to all the learnings you get through the people surrounded by you.
It’s not even a month and I already feel like home.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
The Aditya Birla Group(ABG) Company I would want to work for would be Columbian Chemicals (Birla Carbon). I researched about the company and read many reviews; I think I would be best fit to this culture. I would be put in difficult situations which would test my capabilities and increase my knowledge. I believe in pushing one’s limits as far as they can in the initial 5-6 years of their work life. This could prove to be very beneficial for them in the later stages of their career.
