It’s a human tendency to believe that the other person’s bread is buttered on both the sides, but every person, sooner or later face some kind of challenges in their life. But, what matters is how we go through our life and all of its ups and downs with a positive attitude. The biggest challenge that I faced in my life comes when I was preparing for CAT 2018 and at the same time was doing my graduation.
I met an accident in August 2018, because my scooty got disbalanced due to which my right hand got severely bruised. It’s been almost one year and I still have that mark on my hand. Because of this injury, I was unable to write for around two months. Earlier I was worried about my CAT preparations, but then my near and dear ones encouraged me to work hard. After that I started reading study material and try to solve questions mentally. Even in the institute from where I was preparing for CAT, in the classes, I used to just listen carefully that what the teacher is saying to understand that concept and then, mentally solve the questions given to the class.
I remember, my teacher said to me that you should never view a challenge as a disadvantage. And, he was right. Once, in his class he asked all the students to solve a question and started dictating it. All other students start noting down the question except me, as my right hand was injured. I was the one who took the least time to answer that question, because when everyone was busy in writing the question when sir is dictating and I was the only one who is solving it mentally.
Despite of this challenge that I faced, I was able to score 97.63 percentile in CAT. It’s just that we have to keep working towards achieving our goals no matter what comes in our way. Roger Crawford has rightly said, “Being Challenged in Life is Inevitable, Being Defeated is Optional.”
