How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far’
To overcome any challenge in life one needs to have a lot of motivation, self confidence and determination to go an extra mile. I have learned in life that if one really needs to overcome a challenge, he really should be ready to walk that extra mile. Wayne Dyer has rightly said “It’s never crowded along the extra mile” and this is the reason why number of people who overcome a challenge are significantly less than those who fail. Even I had a few challenges in my life which I overcame during my under graduation, I was very uncomfortable in public speaking and often used to stutter and even went blank wile giving presentations. Thus, in my college I started participating in presentations and delivering speeches whenever it was possible. For that I used to negotiate with faculties to not take assignment and instead take my presentation as means of internal evaluation. And of course choosing this path for many subjects was indeed difficult as presentation preparation (including both presentation making and speech ) used to consume a lot of time and sometimes it was even hectic , but I didn’t give up on this as I really had to improve my speaking skills before I start my job and then later pursue MBA for that matter. Gradually I started feeling change in my presentation skills, I was not only comfortable in the language but also, I didn’t panic in front of audience. I also felt a change in personality of mine which is a huge factor when you are in corporate world. Now I feel confident in taking up speeches and I also reflect on my undergrad days and the journey which I traveled to overcome my challenge.
