The main parameter on which a B-school should be rated is the level of education and the placements that the student receive. IIM-Visakhapatnam being mentored by one of the best IIM of the country, IIM-Banglore, promises to be stiff on both the grounds.
The faculties are highly experienced, and while surfing through the official website I found out that most of them are from IIM-Banglore, thus I was very sure that the learning is going to be sacrosanct.
One unique thing in the course curriculum that attracted me the most was the International Bussiness Immersion programme, where the entire batch goes to a foreign country to understand the international aspects of any business, and so it speaks the broad horizon of IIM-Visakhapatnam.
Something that separates IIM-Visakhapatnam from its contemporaries is the aesthetical campus and hostel, though it is currently functioning in a temporary campus it has very well managed to provide the environment of a top-level IIM by renovating the classrooms and halls. Classrooms are designed in line with Harvard Business School classes.
Since I have been quite interested in Extra-curricular activities, there are many active functioning clubs in the campus which are surely going to keep me engaged throughout my college time.
Studying with few of the most bright minds of the country gives me a chill of excitement and gives an assurance that yes I am at the very best place. Our batch has a strength of 100 people which are from a different educational and cultural background, thus studying with such huge diverse group will lead to a different kind of learning, a learning which is not going to be monotonous in any sense.
Visakhapatnam is in itself a splendour place since I come from Uttar-Pradesh, Visakhapatnam is going to be a different culture for me and I would love to explore it.
The mentorship by IIM-B is a source of invaluable knowledge-support for IIMV, strengthening the institute’s academic and intellectual capacities, with the heightened focus on practical learning and proper guidance by seniors, I am sure we are going to grow manifolds.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Coming from a technical background, Computer Science Engineer, I would wish to work for IDEA CELLULAR, it is one of India's GSM leader and provides 2G,3G, and 4G services.
Idea is currently India’s largest mobile operator and so it promises huge opportunities and great work culture, even with the latest upsurge in the number of 4G subscriber of Jio, Idea has very well managed to keep its customers satisfied with the quality of service, and I believe there's still much that could be done to uplift the technical giant to a better level.
Idea has now launched its own 4G LTE services in over 350 towns across 10 telecom service areas including its leadership service areas like Maharashtra, Kerala and it has also covered many rural areas.
In my college, I have been working on many Android Applications which required me to learn about mobile networks and it's type and so I am quite interested in cellular networks fields and thus I feel working in Idea Cellular company would help me give wings to my interests.
