The institute was established in 2011 and since has done remarkable things. It has set pace on a track that’ll take it to the pinnacle of management education.
The institute has through its exemplary performances on various fronts including but not limited to academia, cultural activities and sports have differentiated itself from its other IIM peers. Be it Sangram, the inter-IIM sports meet, or Mahindra War Room among many other occasions IIM Trichy has proved its mettle again and again.
The Director, Dr. Bhimaraya Metri and PGP Chairperson, Dr. Godwin Tennyson along with the immensely talented faculty have been relentlessly working on the dream of making IIM Trichy the best business school in the in the country.
But, what’s so special about IIM Trichy, you ask? Well, a lot. It's not just about the state of the art infrastructure including a modern sports complex, fully equipped hostel buildings and classrooms that are second to none. But it's about the culture of IIM Trichy. The energy that runs through every student at IIM Trichy. Its about the relentless efforts they put in to be the best of the best.
Anything that separates IIM Trichy from the pack? Well, yes. It is the first IIM to be granted the Institute University Recognition Programme by the Chartered Financial Analyst. It has been acknowledged to be incorporating academic courses of which at least 70 per cent are as per the CFA Programme Candidate Body of Knowledge. The courses at IIM Trichy emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Thus, if finance is your calling IIM Trichy is the place to be.
There is a range of different clubs in IIM Trichy which are all student driven. They range from academic clubs like Finvest- The Finance and Investments Club, SigmaEta- The Operations Club and Persona – The HR and OB Club to clubs that focus on the talents of people like Breakfree – The Dance Club and Swara - The Music Club to name a few among many.
Management education in IIMs has become synonymous with lack of gender diversity in the batch. But that’s not the case with IIM Trichy. Unlike any other management institute in the country, IIM Trichy has equal representation of both the genders.
A lot can be said and done but in the end what matters is the spirit. And IIM Trichy is a place like none.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
It would be my honour to work in any of the ABG companies but if I have to select one, I would be glad to work for Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. I believe in the products of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, being a consumer of them myself. I think I can contribute constructively to the company and help it in achieving its goals.
