SIBM Pune, located in the lush green surroundings of Lavale, sitting at the top of a hill, sparkling like a crown in all its glory and at the same time being true to its core in showering its student with the tagline they say “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”, The World is One Family.
Fast forward to 3rd July 2018, en route to my first day at the institute, I was greeted with the first rains of the season and the campus was surreal on the first day itself. SIBM, Pune looked more like a holiday destination rather than one of the premier B-Schools in the country. As you enter the institute, you could clearly see the hill top amalgamating perfectly with the clouds and the blue skies above them.
The Aqua point in the institute is probably a photographer’s delight. The view you get from there, specially after the rains and in the evening during the sunset, is something probably even the best of money cannot buy. As you take a walk along the twisting roads of the institute, going up and down, a perfect portrayal of your life at the institute, you do hear a couple of peacocks, and the cool breeze rustling up the leaves of the tree hit your face. Couple all this with some amazing people and some amazing views from the hilltop and Voila! You could definitely say SIBM, Pune is the stairway to heaven.
There are times when you are walking amidst the clouds, literally, and you can get a bit wet, but the feeling when that happens, I cannot probably put that down in words. It’s beyond heavenly. The statue of Goddess Saraswati at the entrance of the institute is always a reminder of the fact that knowledge has always been central to SIBM, Pune.
Okay, so now that this description has given you some major travel goals, let me tell you something that will actually make SIBM, Pune a dream destination for you. When I say that SIBM Pune is a holiday destination, I do mean it in the same way. Well, a holiday destination is a place where you enjoy yourself. Couple that with a chance to grow and make an impact on the numerous lives you touch, you have SIBM Pune.
What makes the campus truly unique is the people on the campus. Your fellow batchmates and seniors, whom you interact with, are probably some of the best you will come across any B school, or for that matter, any place on earth. You always have something to learn from them, something to share with them, and most importantly a chance to grow with them.
We do hear that humility is an important quality that everyone should have, to progress in life. Humility at SIBM Pune is something that unites all of us here. The teachers are so friendly and humble that you could always learn so much from them, not only in terms of the curriculum of a B-School but the curriculum of life. The classes, so interactive and fun, with a rich pedagogy including case studies, group exercises, lectures, simulations and much more, you did probably, never want them to end. You could soak in so much knowledge and values from SIBM Pune and that is what probably humbles you and makes you want to give back something to the society that you are a part of.
Your batchmates and seniors are probably some of the best minds, from around the country, all thanks to the rigorous selection process of SIBM Pune. My conversations with them always make me feel so fortunate to be at this place. You will always be discussing new ideas to various things, having fun, taking in the rigours of your B school journey, have rich knowledge sessions and look up to them for the best of advice you can get in your life. In a world full of competition, you end up meeting with a family in them and that is truly worth living for.
You do discover that the world is indeed a small place, at SIBM Pune. You get to interact with so many diverse people from various nationalities and backgrounds. And the sphere of learnings and memories that you create from here is really huge and rich. The campus gives you a chance to spread your wings, for the flight called life. It trains you to be an individual who can give back something to the society and in the process make the world a better place to be in.
SIBM Pune is known as one of the most picturesque B schools in the country, which has given the society and corporates some amazing individuals to be looked up to. And it is no surprise to see how that happens after being here at SIBM Pune, for nearly a month. I believe we all have the potential to hit the zenith and turn our life into a collection of memories that is worth looking back at. The campus here at SIBM Pune enables you to realise that potential and add some amazing memories in the book of life!

I would like to join Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited Business of Aditya Birla Group. The business is a rich portrayal of the various marketing concepts and innovations, which coupled with a good execution strategy has led to the establishment of a very successful business group. Having a prior experience in Marketing- sales at L&T and as a present-day student of MBA, marketing at SIBM Pune, I see ABFR as an opportunity to learn and a chance to grow, and a proud moment of taking India to the world, something which I feel a deep connection with.
