It’s no secret that an elite B-school that has produced industry stalwarts is bound to be gruelling at the very least. Fortunately, in the case of SIBM Pune, the SIU campus balances that. The hilltop campus is nothing less than a treat. For individuals who have lived in metropolitans of India all their lives and battled issues like pollution, water logging etc., the campus feels like paradise.

Sprawling greenery, frequent rains and breezy afternoons together make an indelible impression on mind and soul. The campus oozes of positive energy. That’s about how much of psychological impact the place has on an individual residing on the grounds. But If I were to speak only of the vivid blue of the opalescent sky, I would be doing a grave injustice to everything else that makes this campus singular.

It is one thing to be accepted academically, it’s quite another to be accepted socially. From a personal viewpoint, social acceptance on campus is underestimated and is very difficult to come by. I don’t mean that no other campus is socially inclusive of individuals but I believe that Symbiosis has always been at the forefront of spearheading this credo imbibing every word of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. The campus is sensitive to those with physical disabilities and kind to those with mental inhibitions.

Gender equality is of paramount importance; sexism is tackled without compromise; the campus does not extort restrictions on its female students that it wouldn’t enforce on its male students.

Yes, there may be campuses that offer better chairs to sit in or better walls to look at but what makes a campus great isn’t the grade of brick and stones that goes into constructing it but the calibre of its shareholders – the merit of its students, acuity of its faculty and virtue of its staff. It’s their subtle contributions on a daily basis that makes a campus unique and I can vouch for mine.

Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?

Aditya Birla Group Fashion and Retail Limited – Retail is one of the largest, most dynamic parts of the world economy. Retail is an attractive market and careers in Fashion and retail are people-oriented, fast-paced, and have room for creativity. For someone who is fashion savvy and likes to keep up with the fashion trends, my personal inclination lines up well with this sector. The company has always done a great job with reflecting style, attitude and comfort and I would like to learn more about it. Having a background in Blockchain, I can also leverage it to improve retail chains.
