With its presence in 14 industry sectors and dominance in many of these, ABG has touched upon billions of lives worldwide. Following the path of acquiring and exploring new business horizons, the ABG group has expanded from 8 countries to 34 countries with a revenue jump from $2 billion to over $44 billion in the past two decades.

Leading in sectors which have a connection with people’s daily lives, Aditya Birla Group has associated with people all across the globe in some way or another. From premium fashion brands like Allen Solly and Louis Philippe to affordable brands such as Pantaloons, ABG has made a way to the wardrobe of people in all the segments. In the telecom sector, Vodafone Idea Limited has helped in providing voice and internet services across the country – be it a city, town or a village. With growing digitization, Aditya Birla has stepped up with its own payment bank to help its customers do hassle-free digital transactions. Venturing into the microfinance business, mutual fund industry and Insurance Industry, Aditya Birla Financial Services group not only caters to the financial needs of the retail customers but also corporate customers.

Besides these 14 sectors, philanthropy is another sector where ABG has always been ahead of its counterparts. It believes in sharing a portion of its profit with society. The group provides support to 7.5 million people in 5000 villages across India annually through the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development. The centre primarily focuses on rural development, education, healthcare and sanitation. This reflects that by integrating CSR activities into their operations, ABG has been able to achieve the ambitious goal of sustainable growth.

There are no doubts that ABG had to overcome a plethora of challenges to become the titans of the business realms. Whether it’s a business entity or an individual, achieving success is not a cakewalk. Challenges are a part of everyday life. They make us stronger and without them, life becomes somewhat meaningless because we have nothing to compare the good times to. Being nervous at critical moments in my life was the biggest challenge which I found really hard to overcome. These moments could be interviews, competitive exams or important meetings where I had the fear of not being able to succeed.  I missed out on some of the most important opportunities of my life due to this fear.

Knowing what the real problem is and yet not being able to do anything about it was really frustrating. The problem was within me and I had to fight it on my own. So I started putting myself in uncomfortable situations and practiced a lot to build self-confidence. If I am not trained enough, of course, I will be nervous. I started visualizing things in a positive way and kept myself calm and composed during such times. This transition in my attitude helped. With more and more opportunities, I got better and better in managing my nerves at critical times. As a result, I was able to convert a couple of good opportunities last year and there was no looking back after that.
