I have learnt that one stays happy only when one can truly say that, if today is my last day, I have no regrets about the way one has lived so far, and that will happen only if one strives hard to achieve all the ambitions and goals set in their life.
Throughout my life, I have set targets for myself and strived hard to achieve them, and I believe I have realised them thus far. During my 10th standard, I set a goal to score above 90% and I received 93% despite being in mourning for my grandmother days before and during my boards. I faced a similar situation during my 12th when I lost my grandfather, but I managed to secure my admission in DJ Sanghvi, which was a dream of mine and my grandfather’s and scored 84% in my 12th as well.
I have learnt that your goals should not bend to the obstacles you face in your path and that you will achieve them if you stay true to yourself and put your mind to it. Hard work and honesty are what keeps you on the right path and ensures that you achieve what you have set your mind to.
During my last year of engineering, I had realised that I want to pursue an MBA after my graduation and advance my career on the managerial path. My challenge was to improve my speaking skills, as I was a shy speaker and I knew that this is something I must overcome to consider a career in management ahead.
To overcome this, I took the role of a tutor as one of the responsibilities in my work experience and managed a class of 70 people coming for workshops at IIT Bombay. I went ahead and interacted with different kind of groups and learnt how to adapt my speaking skills based on their expectations.
So my mantra of striving hard and staying true to yourself has definitely worked so far and I continue to be ambitious and achieving what I set to achieve in my life.
Forever ABG - The Role Aditya Birla Group Has Played In My Life
The mammoth of a conglomerate like Aditya Birla Group that has managed to touch millions in the world through their huge range of products and services and their presence in multiple sectors from cement to financial instruments to their amazing brands in the fashion sector under ABFRL. It is amazing to think how ABG would be big in my life because it has managed to provide protection and acted as a shield in different forms: from providing cement to bolster our homes, providing financial services to bolster our businesses to provide the best clothing through their brands in the fashion line. From my teenage years, a significant part of my wardrobe has grown and transformed through the brands of ABFRL.
It started with buying my first-day dresses for college from Pantaloons and Forever 21 and progressed all the way towards buying my first set of business formals from Allen Solly. The brands like Allen Solly and Van Heusen really stood out for me and have a special place in my life, owing to their equal contribution towards women’s collections for formal wear as to their men’s, which many Indian brands fail to provide.
Their attention to detail towards the needs of women in the industry shows in their collection and stands out for me.
