What impact does Aditya Birla Group have on my life.
The shape of the Sun in Aditya Birla Group’s logo brings justice to the company’s past and signifies its luminous future in the league of Fortune 500. A leading group in Fashion Retail, Aluminium Rolling and Cement, it has marked its presence worldwide over 35 countries. Aditya Birla is associated with me in my everyday life from packing food to my office in Fresh Wrapp, buying formals for IIFT from Allen Solly or Van Heusen to my father selecting Ultra Tech Cement for building house. ABG’s massive presence can be felt in 750 cities and towns. It is a pure-play fashion powerhouse. So I need not to worry wherever I am, I can always hop onto my favorite stores such as Peter England, Pantaloons, People which gives me the confidence to bridge the gulf between my aspirations with the elegance and decency they depict. This has become their unique selling point which I can truly relate to my identity. A soft drink lover like me holding aluminium beverage cans in my hand every now and then have never thought that they are associated with ABG’s subsidiary Hindalco Industries. I have been using all the latest versions of Samsung phones since last few years and to my surprise I discovered that they have Novelis Inc produced premium aluminium sheets in it. ABG has carved a niche for itself in Telecom as well as Financial Services sector. My relation with ABG turned dates back to my school days when my first network was Idea which was among the leading telecom players before it acquired 2nd position after its merger with Vodafone. ABG has set its international footprints in terms of chemical industry which are used in everyday products such as detergents, paint and coatings. Few other chemicals find use in food and beverage packing and water treatment. ABG’s presence can be felt from larger sectors to minuscule products.
A challenge I Faced and how I overcame it.
Life has always been challenging but what has served as an impetus for me was never giving up and rising each time I fell. One such incident of my life: I worked with TCS for last 3.5 years and had a target to convert a reputed B school. There started my struggle to manage things at office and at the same time start preparation. I joined weekend test series and many times it happened that I have to attend meeting one after other on weekends and then carve out some time for study. I managed early morning classes and office at odd hours. Spending 11-12 hours in office and then give mock tests really tested my patience and determination. Last year despite scoring good in IIFT exam, I could not make it to converts list. I was quite disappointed and started from the scratch once again, charted my capabilities and weaknesses and worked upon them. I not only made to IIFT this year but was also an exceptional performer in office and won many accolades. I now believe in continuous learning and hard work. I can firmly say that “There are no secrets to success”.
