How Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
The thing about ABGLP is that it can always be around, you might not even feel its presence, but it will leave an impact on you. I have always been surrounded by the different brands and products of ABG. My father is a civil engineer, which means that every year our calendar came from UltraTech. Apart from that ABG has been a part of my many firsts in life, my first mobile network was Idea Cellular, I even remember going to shop for formals at Peter England when I landed my first job. Even my very first suit was from Van Heusen. I have fond memories of shopping with my sister in Pantaloons when we were young. The food I eat has been wrapped every day in the aluminum foil coming from Hindalco. The car I drive is safe because of the Birla Carbon and what it does for tires. In these ways and many others, ABG has touched my life throughout and keeps making a difference without even me noticing. More than all this, I will always remember the ABG’s taking India to the world ad campaign, as there won’t be any other Corporate house like ABG group, an unparalleled conglomerate with a strong global presence and an even stronger ethical & moral fabric. Their accomplishments in terms of 'Respect' and 'Social Impact' are several times that of most of the other comparable business groups.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
I remember my mother telling me as a kid, whenever I used to procrastinate or find something too tough, my mother asked me whether I wanted to remain mediocre in life and I have always been driven by the thought of running away from mediocrity. I believe in accepting and learning from my failures and moving ahead every time. I use them as a catalyst to my future success by reflecting upon the issues that I face. After each day, I like to ask myself what I could have done better today whether the day was successful or not. This helps in learning what I’m doing correctly and what I can improve. This practice has helped me reflect on my actions and understand my own strengths and weakness. All this has helped me overcome any possible challenges and achieve my ambitions. During my summer internship, I had to travel extensively in the states where I faced a language barrier. Every day I learned something new about the region and the people and through introspection and reflection, I was able to imply that at my work and produce strong results for my company. Within 2 months I traveled to 10+ cities and helped make their pilot project successful. My takeaway is not the numbers generated but how I was able to understand the people’s requirement and solve their issues and build relationships. Other than that, I got to know a lot of things I can still do better and I have my whole career ahead to apply and improvise on it.
