Seven decades of continuous efforts and responsible business practices in metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement industries, you made India proud in all over the world. How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
Life is never easy. It requires us to take some risks and challenges to achieve goals of life. It started when I born in a small town with limited facilities not much knowing about the world. At my place where girls were not getting education for their life, their goal, their future. They were getting education to get married. As soon as understand what I wanted to do, it was little late, I already completed my 12th. I wanted to go for engineering but was not knowing about the entrance exams. My medium of study was HINDI. So complete conversion from Hindi to English was a big task for me. I took a pause, worked day night for all the concepts from Hindi to English and prepared for my engineering entrance examination. I got selected for state government engineering institute. First mile stone of my life. I was the first engineer of my entire community. I again went for very unconventional engineering stream for girls i.e. Chemical engineering. I joined Petroleum Refinery as process engineer and chose manufacturing plant. Being single women in entire plant got me in lots of performance pressure and expectations. When you are around the people who are not habitual of working with a girl and who see you a novice girl rather than as an engineer, it becomes tougher to change their perspective. But again with full dedication and excellence in my work, I got recognition and respect from each individual and higher managers. Received best performance recognition. I was again assigned additional charges beyond my work profile. Being as responsive engineer, I also took some training initiatives towards my people.
Till now, it was a roller coaster ride. I aspire to become a good operational manager in near future and I am continuously working towards that. In spite of lots of challenges, life always gives us opportunities to prove ourselves. We just need to grab that and work towards our ambitions
