Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
As the tag Says “Taking India to the World”. Its indeed true.It has impacted million of lives through its Textiles industries, Telecom services ,Financial services etc.
The Name has also played a deep role in my life. I was a second year student of Jadavpur University , Kolkata when I approached Hindalco Industries , Belur,Kolkata for my Summer Internship Program. Being a second year student, I had no prior knowledge of working in any organization. I was very excited asi was visiting a manufacturing plant of such reputation but also feared the alien culture which I wasn’t accustomed to.
But everything was so smooth. I received outstanding mentorship from my Mentor , who explained me each and every fabrication and finishing processes (hot & cold rolling,blast furnace, circle blanking line etc) so patiently and articulately as if I felt he was more a teacher and not my Reporting Head. He answered to all my stupid,naïve question which enabled me to work freely and confidently in my tenure. I believe presence of such amazing people is what makes worth the Brand today it is. It was my first industrial exposure which I would always remember throughout my life.
I am also deeply attached to Aditya Birla Group through its multi brand fashion retail chain Pantaloons. It is just at 5 mins walk from my home. Be it buying salwars for my mother during Durga puja or buying Formal for my father and me, Pantaloons has always been my first choice.In fact we are green card member since 2002 and avail great discounts and free parking charges.Its off season Sales , vouchers, giftsets etc are the reason which attracts customers to such extent.Thus it has been a part of all middle class families for ages and I am proud to be attached with it.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
Life is full of challenges .Starting from Poor to the riches, everyone faces and overcome their daily challenges to sustain in the world.
I remember in my 5 th semester , I suffered from Chicken Pox thanks to one of my classmate who communicated this to fifteen more of us. Laying in bed ,I missed my first set of class tests, Lab attendances and even PPO opportunities. As I was recovering , by all gods graces, I was down with Dengue this time, just 18 days before semester. I missed my second class tests and missed all my Laboratory exams. I somehow managed to pass my theory paper but received 6.3 CGPA in the semester. I knew that with such a marks , placement would become a uphill task which was just around corner of 6th semester. I decided to do a comeback.
I studied rigorously for all internals, lab exams and semester exams for the 6th semester. I made a routine which I followed everyday. With sheer determination and hard work for the next five months , I was the departmental topper with 8.9 CGPA. I was shortlisted by most companies visited in campus as overall third yr. CGPA increased to 7.6.
Even during my Cat preparation, Life was full of hardships. I had to travel one and a half hours everyday twice to reach my office, that too via train. I was out of home by 8 AM in morning and back at 8PM in night. Initially it was very tiring. I slept after returning home. But One fine day I was listening to a song “ KAR HAR MAIDAAN FATEH”while travelling to office .I realized that I was loosing focus and need to work hard to reach my goal. I started studying no matter how drowsy I felt after returning. Everyday I studied till 1:30 AM after returning and got up at 7AM and rushed to work.While in train ,I practiced Two reading comprehension or studied GK everyday .I decide not to waste time at any cost.Even at work, I took my lunch within 10 minutes and spent the rest time practicing maths whereas others enjoyed the time gossiping. With proper dedication and self belief I achieved my target of converting a Top B-School and am very happy today.
There will always be challenges when I would step forward in my life, but I believe with my principles and morals ,I will succeed overcoming those and progress in my life.
