Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate with its headquarters in Worli, Mumbai, India. It was founded by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla in 1857. The group has interests in metals, cement, apparel, chemicals, fertilizers, financial services, telecom, IT services, etc. It is close to impossible for someone’s life to not be affected by the Aditya Birla Group because the group has so much influence in so many different sectors.
When it comes to my personal life, I must say that I have some very fond memories relating to my experiences with the different brands under the group, Aditya Birla. I remember going to pantaloons with my mother for various reasons, be it buying something for my sister on her birthday or buying clothes for all our friends and family for Durga Puja. I always enjoyed those times. There were moments when I would wonder, “why are you taking so long mom?”, or “why are you making me try on so many clothes?”.
After my CAT exam results were out, my father had taken me to Van Heusen to buy a suit for me. It was my first own suit and that suit always reminds me the hard work my father had to do to provide for me and how I need to do the same for him. It motivates me and makes me feel confident during all my stressful interviews and till date, it is the only suit I have.
There was a time when I did not realize that the group, Aditya Birla, was behind all these brands, brands that have given me memories that I will always cherish. I got to know about Aditya Birla Group as I grew older and more aware and I am glad that I did. I started to read about the different contributions they had towards the social and economical development, from launching micro manufacturing unit schemes for women and training them to become entrepreneurs, to providing scholarships for students.
Aditya Birla Group is a big part of all our lives, creating memories people can cherish forever, along with working hard for the development for our various communities. They have been affecting people’s lives since they were found and are continuing do so.
