I am a student of the second year of Indian Institute Of Foreign Trade. I will be sharing a couple of incidents to show the importance of Aditya Birla Group in my life.

Presently, I am 24 years old. But, the first memory that I have of using an Aditya Birla Group’s brand dates back to my childhood days. So, let’s begin. First day at school. A four-year old cries after his parents left him at school. But as soon as he finds out that there are students suffering from the same fate as he is right now, he starts having fun with them. Then comes the first recess of my school life. I saw the tiffin my mother gave me and the food packed in the “Freshwrapp” aluminium foil. This made me miss home. I cried a lot throughout the day after that. My mother had to be called to make sure that I felt better. This is the first memory of an Aditya Birla Group brand that I have in my mind.

Now, let’s fast forward a little bit. It’s the day of my school farewell. I was about to wear a suit for the first time in my life. I was very excited. I went shopping with my mother and any guesses where did she take me? “Peter England”. The first suit that I ever tried out on me belonged to Peter England, an Aditya Birla Group brand. I bought one suit from there and wore it on the day of my farewell. This first suit, that I still own by the way, is of great significance for me as it implied that I was going past teenage and getting into adulthood.

One of my biggest challenges was during my engineering entrance examinations. My mother got very sick. I live in a nuclear family with my sister and my parents. At that time, my sister was living in a hostel and my father was posted outside of India. This meant that I was the only one who could stay with my mother and take care of her.

I remember spending nights in the hospital with my mother and studying beside her. Finally, after a while, she recovered and I had managed to secure a seat in a decent engineering college. The second challenge that I am going to talk about is a journey which is very close to me: getting into IIFT. I had started preparing for MBA entrances in the third year of my engineering. In the first attempt, I failed miserably. I didn’t get any calls from the top business schools.

Then, I started preparing again alongside my job. The result after the second attempt was poorer than the first one. Before beginning preparations for the third attempt, I decided to quit my job and risk everything. I also decided that I’ll take admission in any business school that offers me admission. This time, I was third time lucky. In the second week of April 2018, IIFT declared its result and my name was there in the list of selected students. It was the biggest achievement of my life and I was over the moon.

That was the best day possible! This incident taught me that if you want something and you are willing to work hard for it, then you will definitely get it.

In the end, I would like to thank Aditya Birla Group for giving this opportunity to students of IIFT to write this article as I enjoyed a lot writing it as it had a personal touch to it.
