PART A

Being one of the most popular and one of the biggest conglomerate, Aditya Birla Group has been a part of my life right from the very start. Be it food wrapped in Hindalco aluminum for school lunch box or be it Ultra tech as a synonym to cement, ABG has a diversified presence. With the group’s wide and scalable presence in fourteen industries, the business line which impacted me the most in retail fashion. Shopping for clothes and accessories under one roof was made possible through Pantaloons. The said business line of the group fulfills all the fashion requirement currently for every age group of the society. With brands like Allen Solly and Hackett London keeps you up to date with casual dressing trend and international standards, brands like Peter England and Van Heusen take care of your formal and corporate look. An international brand like Louis Philippe never let you miss the pulse of ongoing fashion. All these brands almost cater to the entire section of society with a flexible price band and assured quality. Forever 21 makes it very easy to select gifts from a wide variety of range spreading from clothing to accessories for near and dear ones. The portfolio has sized up with addition like Ted Baker London, American eagle, Skult and Ralph Lauren giving it a competitive edge over any other group dealing in the same industry. Aditya Birla Group products have always been my first choice as they offer best in segment quality with tremendous variety at reasonable prices for every occasion.

PART B

Right during my graduation, I had decided that I wanted to pursue masters in business administration and enter into the corporate world at a managerial position but to have a plan and to overcome challenges for the execution is very different. There were many constraints from reaching to a premier business school. To start with a few is that to crack the entrance exam the primary requirement is to have a very good aptitude. Now as far as the mathematics or the reasoning part is concerned this was not a problem but the main problem or the trouble factor was to clear the sectional cut-off in verbal which was not a strong point for me. To overcome this challenge I had to work very hard and with consistency, I started to read English newspaper, listened to English news for at least half an hour in a day and it was very difficult to adjust at first but with the passage of time, I adapted quite well. Apart from that, I used to solve reading comprehension at least four to five passages a day. With the disciplined effort, I scored well in every entrance exam in verbal section and the diligence paid off. Apart from this, the other challenge was to convince my parents to pursue MBA the reason was we knew that pursuing an MBA from a good B-School meant large investment and being from a humble background this was a big step for the entire family. Finally, I convinced my family to take a partial education loan and partial fee payment from the savings and entered a premier B-School this has opened a plethora of avenues for my future professional life.
