COVID 19 has brought the world to standstill and b schools are trying hard to cope up with such life-changing event. COVID has impacted to such a extend that marketeers are calling it separation of era i.e Before COVID After COVID so next time you see B.C don't mistake it for before christ but it would be before corona.
You would have heard or read a lot about pre-COVID b school life but let me give you the glimpse of future the post COVID journey for starters if you want to be in school download all the video calling and connecting apps you have ever heard of i.e zoom, google meet, classroom etc and the never-ending list as every committee, club or teacher has a different priority and what you lack is a mere choice.
How I started my b school journey?
It all started on one fine evening on 13th Aug and completed all the procedures by 17th Aug. I also converted a couple of baby IIMs ( Jammu, BG and Nagpur
) but Bon Voyage had struck me hard and I chose Sirmaur The Himalayan IIM and was started dreaming of wonderful treks, the white snow and the mesmerising scenery but what brought back me to my senses was the heat which led me to switch the fan on tuned into PC for my classes.
The rigour b school brings to you in its 3 months of its journey is the greatest experience and learning for a b school aspirant the rigour is still the same and so is experience but learning has suffered because every good b school focusses on peer learning model and whether or how much effort you put in will always hear mother calling out for you to have some food.
The COVID has given you the comfort of your home but you will start questioning Is the comfort? because it will not seem so, in the coming days though there are many positives as well now, for instance, the introvert of the class is asking doubts because no one is staring and judging him, you can revisit the lectures you missed on and other various technological benefits.
The question remains the same. The question you all are waiting for The Placement Scenario.
Let's start with an incidence and then talk about the effect I talked to one of my seniors (2019-21) had internship opportunity in XYZ firm B.C (before COVID) but as the pandemic arrived the firm waited for 1 month for the situation to stabilize but as we all know it got better with time. The offer was withdrawn but he got over with better opportunities portfolio and company.
So, the question is has placement suffered or will suffer? and the answer is big, Yes but everyone is gearing up and looking to face the problem and virtual world has got all the answers to it bringing the world closer and making so much accessible that now you have opportunities from all over the world and not only from the b school you are part of.
