This is a story from my undergrad days. I had completed my second year(just barely). I just scraped by, getting near passing marks in many of my subjects. I have never been a hard worker. i was a procrastinator and quite literally i procrastinated everything from my submissions to studies even doctor's appointments. I got less marks despite being good in grasping concepts. The irony in all this scenario is the friends i helped understand the concepts got more marks than me in every subject. The opposite was true in practical examinations, where i got some of the highest marks in all the students appearing for the test. I was never bothered about this until my third year started. This was the time i cursed my habit of procrastination. In almost all the companies i could not appear, not because of my knowledge or practical skills but because of my lack of marks. Recruiters preferred candidates who had more marks and i was omitted in all the final lists. 8 interviews went by when i finally asked myself that what was i doing and how long is this going to continue. It was then that i decided to finally start working hard. For the first time, in my undergrad i got marks. I got a Semester GPA of 8, after getting a 5-6 in all my previous semesters. It did feel good as now i was not only understanding but was also showing that i do know things. I also started to control my urge to procrastinate which helped me in making a very nice Virtual Reality based First Person Shooter game for android platform, which i presented at the end of my third year and got an A grade for it. I started to change my entire habit and my lifestyle. Eventually i graduated with a CGPA of 6.6 eligible to sit in most of the companies, a feat i thought impossible, but by then i had a new goal to pursue MBA, which i believed would transform me. I worked hard and eventually did get myself into Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bangalore. All this possible due to a series of rejections.
