As I find myself wearing Peter England shirt and accessories, Allen Solly trousers and using the Idea network to stay in touch with my family, I truly understand how the role of Aditya Birla Group is ‘Big’ in my life.
Aditya Birla Group has not only caused a revolution in the Indian business but has also become an integral part of the lives of millions of people. An organization that was established in the 19th century and has been successfully growing ever since, has become the third largest Indian private sector conglomerate achieving the revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion in year 2018. In 1948, Grasim was incorporated and is now the largest exporter of Viscose Rayon Fiber in the country. Hindalco which was established in 1958 is one of the largest aluminium rolling companies and one of the largest producers of primary aluminium in Asia. The launch of brands like Van Heusen, Louis Philippe and Peter England later brought in a revolution in the Indian fashion industry. There have been many more accomplishments that have influenced the lives of millions of people.
I have been associated with Aditya Birla Group for more than a decade. Since the day I got my first smartphone, I have been using the Idea cellular network which is now the Vodafone Idea Network. I still use the same and have always had a pleasant experience.
When it comes to formal occasions, the only brand that comes to my mind is Peter England. Peter England was launched in India in 1997 and soon it became the largest selling brand in the country. Peter England shirts have helped me stand out in the presentations and meetings. From college presentations to client meetings at workplace, Peter England is the only brand that I have chosen because it goes according to my choice, colour and style. I also wear Peter England casual shoes quite often because they are comfortable and stylish.
When Allen Solly was launched in 1993, people were introduced to smart casuals. Allen Solly T-shirts are an important part of my wardrobe because of their comfortable fitting and high quality of fabric. Pantaloons is the store that has fulfilled all my fashion needs from shirts and trousers to shoes. Indeed, Aditya Birla Group has changed my fashion sense and helped me stand out.
So, I could rightly say that Aditya Birla Group has been an important part of my life and it always will be. Indeed, Aditya Birla Group is ‘Big’ in my life.
HOW YOU OVERCAME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE YOUR AMBITIONS IN LIFE SO FAR
There have been several instances where I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions. The major challenges were when I had newly entered the corporate world. I had been posted in a city which was quite far from my native place. And since it was a completely different culture and I was also living all by myself, it became quite difficult to cope up with the new scenario as well as day to day activities.
But the motivation to learn and develop new skills kept me going. Despite several challenges, I successfully completed the initial training with a high score and got a good project. Then in my first few years in the corporate world, I had to deal with high pressure situations and also highly difficult people. My role as a developer required me to deal with high pressure situations and also to deal with tough clients. As I was voluntarily taking different roles, I gained the technical and interpersonal skills to become successful at a relatively young age.
In one of my projects, I had to learn a completely new technology which I had no knowledge of. But the desire to learn and go the extra mile to perform, I started spending extra hours in taking trainings, knowledge transfer sessions and attending technical training sessions. Initially it seemed quite difficult but with time I was able to learn and perform well in my role. Soon my hard work was rewarded when I was given a certificate of appreciation. This was the moment where I truly felt that all my hard work was finally recognized. While I was getting appreciation at workplace, I started getting interested in ‘Business and Management’ and soon was able to get an admission in the institute that I wanted.
Indeed, there have been a lot of challenges in my professional and personal life but my ability to stay focused on my goals has made me overcome all the obstacles and achieve the results that I want.
