Ever been at that point of Mountain during a trek – where you see the next few meters and it feels like this is the Peak of Mountain. Only on Reaching there you realize – Oh! There much more of Mountain (Or Perhaps a new mountain now!) left to climb. Well That’s Life!
I am Ajinkya Chopade from MDI Gurgaon’s PGPIM Course, and this is my story, with my mountains, and my climbs!
One such Climb for me was to Excel at Public Speaking. I knew from a very young age that it was something I definitely wanted to master. But I also knew that in a geography class back in 7th Std while presenting in front of class – I had failed even to introduce myself. I can still remember that shivering of mine, and how I had become sweaty on a perfectly cool day otherwise.
I started building my skills up in my Engineering, participating in every possible quiz, presentation, competition and pushing myself for every event small or large regardless. It takes a while before you understand that to perform well at stage you need to know that audience has better work to do than just judging you. Its this time when dialogues like “Dance to Express not to Impress” start making sense. During my years of Engineering I participated and built my Spoken skills greatly. Mastering any skill is just like learning to cycle- You are taught just to balance – after that you fall – you observe – you try again and repeat till you succeed.
Now didn’t I Tell you when you seem to have reached a peak you discover another mountain left to climb?
Out of Engineering - my fate and my passion decided I was to pursue the profession of Educator. When you are participating in a competition – the audience there is generally the judging crew, and its generally a one-time interaction.
Think of what happens in a class of 70 youngsters sit staring at you with their hopes and aspirations - You can’t Fail Them, it’s no longer a fun activity to speak – Its now a responsibility to manage and preach to the classroom. I had a habit of keeping my hands in pocket while speaking which I deliberately overcame (by placing pins in pockets to remind me to keep hands out) during the first few months of my teaching. I gradually went on to Receive the Best Faculty Awards from my institution for the years of 2017 and 2018 consecutively. I have taught over Five Thousand Students since, not just for their subjects but also for Soft Skills, Presentation and Interview Skills. I have Spoken in Over hundred Seminars and also been guest at Inductions for Engineering Colleges!
Whoosh!
Did I just reach another Peak?
Well now that I have started studying for my Business studies in International Management from MDI Gurgaon. Everyone here has an Awesome Story, many here are Better Presenters than me and That’s the Another Mountain yet to be scaled.
How is ABG Big in my Life?

My stint with ABG started unknowingly when as a kid I would visit grandparents in our village in Maharashtra. There would be bags of Birla Balwan – a product from ABG, and as Resource caring my grandparents were the bags of Fertilizers would stay well past intended use. They would be used at Daris, and to cover and keep almost everything.
A Little Later I remember how much of fun it was to show off my tiffin which would be properly packed in aluminum foils – Not to Forget the Little Mini Catching game that could be played form the little crumbled ball made out of foil. I don’t Remember which Brand Exactly but I Recall both Fresh wrap and Super wrap boxes in mom’s Kitchen – it was great fun tearing off foils from those boxes.
I was brought up in Nashik, a tier 2 city in Maharashtra. It was probably in my 8th Standard when Nashik got its First Mall – The City Center Mall (Which felt like a big deal back then). The first big clothing outlet in it? Pantaloons!
It’s no wonder I can connect to pantaloons more than I can do to any other outlet – let’s just say I am in love with it.
There will be many more such personalized experiences I have had with ABG’s Products but these three are the ones I would put on the top of the list always. Mesmerized is the one word for Aditya Birla Group’s Presentation in Inside IIM’s Event in Mumbai. It’s a Place I would definitely love to work in!
That’s how Big ABG is in my Life!
