Part A :
“Aditya Birla Group”, a name synonymous with trust, style, panache, and quality. With products ranging from the construction sector to the fashion sector, Aditya Birla Group is the pinnacle that all conglomerates aspire to reach. It, therefore, comes as no surprise that ABG touches a billion lives every day.
My life is no exception in this regard. Being a bong, Durga Puja holds a special place in my heart. And the one thing that comes hand in hand with Durga Puja is shopping. And where is the first place that I go shopping whenever I need the trendiest clothes in town? Yes, that’s right, Pantaloons it is! It does not end there, just before my MBA journey I needed a suit that exuded confidence, style, and command. And of course, I resorted to buying a stunning charcoal black set from Van Heusen. I needed some shirts as well, so I picked them up from a Peter England retail store. I needed some trousers, so I got them from Allen Solly. I crossed bridges and a few roads to reach home, all of which have some form of connection with ABG. Here lies the greatness of ABG, it is almost impossible to escape their influence in our daily lives.
Here lies the greatness of ABG, which has always assumed a symbol of trust. Whenever you use Ultratech, you know that you’ll get quality. The same holds for brands like Pantaloons, Ralph Lauren, Allen Solly, Freshwrapp, Van Heusen all of which have improved our lives significantly. On a personal front, I can’t remember a day which has gone by without me using an ABG product, and as I post this, I am consuming data that is provided to me by Vodafone, provided to us by ABG, thus helping me connect with my friends and family. To sum up, life for me would not have been the same without the intervention of ABG, and their glorious presence has made our lives convenient and hassle-free.
Part B :
My life is the accumulation of a couple of steps forward a step back at the same time. The only thing that I try to ensure through this is that I am constantly moving ahead. And that has not come without its fair share of setbacks and challenges though. A major goal over the last year has been to procure admission to a top B school of the country. I realized that there would be hurdles along the way, but I always knew in my heart that I had what it takes to come out unscathed.
The difficulty became more evident when I awarded a senior position at work. And added to that came the challenges of becoming more answerable to our clients and leading a team and guiding them to meet the demands that were set in our department. I knew that my preparation had to take backstage for a few days as I approached my work with the utmost sense of responsibility and focus. I used to slog over 10 hours at my office and travel for a cumulative time of 3 hours, fall asleep along the way, and reach home late in the night, but I did not lose track of my ambition and every day little by little I studied to reach my goal. Again, in the morning I set my mind on work and set myself in the mode that was expected of me and this process continued for the better part of the year. I led my work position effectively and carried on with my preparation sticking to a strict schedule all the way. As the day approached for my exam, I was still equally committed to work as I was a year before. There were even instances wherein I had to pitch in for work after office hours and at the weekends, but I found my mojo and squeezed my work, my preparation, and my hobbies all in that 24 hours each day. Finally, when I secured admission in the college of my choice, I had an open heart to heart talk with my teammates whom I had always kept in the loop about my ambition. I had arranged knowledge transfer sessions and learning sessions that ensured my seamless transfer from work to a shot again at college life and overall, the entire burden of work that was laid on me for the year was achieved smoothly and throughout the process, I didn’t lose sight of my goal.
If you set your mind on something and stick by it, wonders can happen. The course of last year is a testament to that. So, this is my story, I’m sure others go through similar challenges in life, and now thanks to the world of blogging we can exchange such stories, raise each other’s spirits and continue with our lives with reinvigorated energy. Life is the little things we do that moves us an inch closer to our destination, and when we reach there, we appreciate the beauty, but cherish our journey even further and these peaks and troughs are the elements that add flavor and meaning to our lives and stay on as memories that we fondly look back on in our old age.
