Why ABG is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group is one of the most coveted brands in India which needs no introduction at all. Right from the moment we open our eyes to the moment when we close it, ABG and its products touch us in one form or another. ABG is active in 14 industry sectors, with AUM worth more than Rs. 3000 billion which is itself is a herculean feat. From the Louis Philippe shirts, I wore to all my B-schools interview to the freshwrapp aluminum foil which my mother used every day to pack food for me, ABG’s products have assumed an omnipresent role in my life. As quoted in Spiderman “With great power comes great responsibility” ABG is showing the way to other national and international brands with their CSR initiatives. There is no bigger joy then impacting the lives of others, and ABG is impacting 7.5 million people with their CSR initiatives. One thing that I personally admire about ABG is their dedication and their attitude to succeed. Esteemed Institutions like BITS Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad are the byproducts of their dedication and willingness to serve the country. Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla once said “Well, I think the golden rule I can think of is the fact that you must follow your passion and do something that's close to your heart. And I think that that's very important, well, to be successful and to be happy.” It is because of the vision of Mr. Birla that ABGLP is consistently ranked as the best leadership program in the country. ABG will give me the freedom to make an impact in the world and I believe that every tiny bit counts.
I wasn’t a very good student from the very beginning of my school days. After my 10th class results, I decided to opt for science stream and joined a coaching institute to prepare for competitive exams. I struggled a lot through my initial days at coaching and it seemed that everyone in coaching was doing better than me, due to this fear my grades started dropping and I was eventually shifted to a lower ranked batch. My fear had a cascading effect on everything else in my life. At that time, I realized the true strength of my backbone i.e. parents. My father sternly told me, “There comes a time in every man’s life when he has one of two options: to run or to fight. This is not the time to run, instead, this is an opportunity to end all your fears”. This particular conversation made an enormous impact on me and I bounced back with all my strength. My test scores started improving and I eventually topped my way to the best batch in coaching. My key take away is to never lose hope and keep your mind and body in sync with nature. Everyone encounters tough time in his/her life but the one who succeed have one thing in common, they believe in ‘This too shall pass’. Oh! by the way, I eventually made it to NITD, which is one of the prestigious institutions in the country.
