- Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life
The earliest memory of Aditya Birla group was of Planet Fashion. Coming from a humble middle-class family in Mumbai, the cheapest yet trendiest fashionable clothes were available in these multi-brand stores. They were one of the earliest operating stores that were a one-stop destination to all middle and upper-middle-class families. I vividly remember the day I got a gown for a talent show competition to be held at my school and I had won the best-dressed award shows how impactful Aditya Birla Group have been in my life both knowingly and unknowingly. As the stores evolved and with fast-changing times, ABG opened stores named Pantaloons which resonates with every Indian family. Be it a large city like Mumbai or Delhi to smaller cities like Bhubaneswar or Ranchi, Pantaloons have a huge footprint all over India. With one step at a time, ABG is conquering the offline market optimistically affecting lives across pan India with multi-branded stores all in one place at cheap rates yet with great quality. Being a regular buyer at Pantaloons, I have been privileged always to get all items under one roof. Apart from conquering the offline market, ABG transcended to the online market by launching its flagship brand “People” through various high-end e-commerce websites like Jabong, Myntra etc. My wardrobe consists of almost 45% of clothes from the brand People due to their stylish & trendy yet comfortable look. The price tag attached with doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket and yet you are up to date in the fashion world.
Secondly being a lover of home food, I always carried lunch boxes be it school, college or office. ABG has elevated the experience of having hot pipping and soft parathas and chapatis made by moms with love. They achieved it by introducing premium quality aluminium wrap foils in the name of Hindalco- Freshwrap. Those foils are saviours today for preserving food by it keeping fresh till your lunch hour.
Another way how ABG has impacted my life is the way we have connected with through wireless communications. IDEA being one of the most preferred services by Indians, brought us closer way back in the 2000s. IDEA being omnipresent provided us with the continuous network to whichever place we travelled. As they progressed in the network arena, they took up many sustainability initiatives like “Green Idea” with an aim in reducing carbon emission. Not only they provided the customer experience but also created an impact on the environment for future generations to come. Giving back to the society has one of the priorities of ABG and they inspire me to work towards society selflessly along with providing enriching customer experience.
- How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.
When I look back to the year 2013, I shudder at those memories yet puts a smile across my face thinking about that scared yet determined 18-year-old child who had just left her hometown to study in one of the finest planning colleges in India. Transferring from the hustle bustle city of Mumbai to a relatively slower city of New Delhi, it came as a culture shock to me. Having prepared for engineering exams and ending up in a niche course in Planning coupled with the change of place, gave me anxiety attacks, vertigo and what not. I still remember the day when we were handed a list to bring a set of technical drawings instruments and colour paints and I had that confused look on my face because this was something I wasn’t prepared for. Winding through the unpredictable journeys of alien subjects, I had almost given up. The crumbling infrastructure of the government college added to my woes which almost made me tear up every time. As the year progressed, I slowly started ignoring my studies and started stressing out in all matters. I used to barely make it the class and had stopped interacting with many of my peers. This further had detrimental effects on my health and I started piling up weight. Fearing that my parents will become tense, I kept bottling up my emotions until one day poured them out in front of my roommate. Fortunately, the good soul calmed me and heard me patiently for days. A few months later when I received my results, I was heartbroken to see that I have not performed well as per my expectations and pondered about the things that went wrong. In no time I gathered myself up and decided to dedicate my full concentration to my academics. Slowly through the tumultuous journey, I overcame my inhibitions and came third in my class, partied harder and lost the extra weight that I have gathered along the way. I was all smiles the day I graduated for having surpassed some of the toughest times I felt during those four years of my life. Today when I reminiscence about them, I feel glad for having gone through them as they have made me a stronger person today capable of facing any difficult situation in life.
