A Driving Force Within
Into the memory lane whenever I delve and encounter the challenges that I faced in my life, I always find my driving force as a savior that sailed through those turbulent times. Life always surprises us by presenting small-small packages of challenges, one among those in my life is the journey to MBA College. Though it may seem like any other story of any MBA aspirant but for me it was a life changing experience because I have to go through the rigorous process of unlearning and relearning to fight against my weakness.
Since my childhood I cocooned myself into things that were well within my comfort zone and hence it aired my weakness of handling multiple tasks at a time and it festered with the course of time. It hit me hard when I decided to pursue my dream of MBA and started to prepare with a job in hand. That was a completely new zone that I entered because it was highly competitive, needed hundred percent dedication and at the same time doing justice to the job, and above all, you need to give quality time to your loved ones. It was a completely whirling emotion to me and my inefficient plans to hold all strings together led to the deterioration of my health. As they say life never fails to surprise you with the packages of challenges, I was detected with blood infection, almost on the verge of becoming cancer. Living far from home for job, planning to take new direction for career and into the process of learning and unlearning the nuances of multitasking via series of failures, this news to me was like a bomb that shattered my dreams apart. At the same time I needed a lot of courage to tell this to my loved ones. Everything stopped, my family came all the way from another part of the country to look after me. I was lying in the hospital bed with my mother standing beside me and all i could sense was helplessness and feeling of failure. She tried to console me, asked me to drop my plan of an MBA degree and focus on the job I had, trying to make me realize that even this part of life would be no less happier. That was something that actually affected me, I knew that I had two possibilities, one was easily dropping my plan and take my health excuse to back my failure or I could rather understand my goal and create a perfect plan to overcome my failures. I understood that my goal itself is my driving force and learned from the journey the importance of planning in achieving goals.
Finally, I made it to the most prestigious MBA College of the country and when I retrospect, I find that a strong desire and proper planning helped me to sail through the challenges of my life.
