How often do we underestimate the people or things we trust the most! About me, I am passionate about Road Trips and Long Drives. Even if I get a half day off, I would rather go on a long drive all by myself rather than being at home and watch TV. And though time does not always allow me to go on Road Trips, I make sure that I go on such trips at least twice a year. My elder brother taught me how to drive a car when I was in 2nd year of college, since then I share very emotional bond with my car. The first thing I did after getting a job was to buy a new car.
The best thing about road trip is driving a car on a smooth road, and from last some years, the condition of roads has been improved to a great extent. I would always talk about the good road and about the pleasure of driving on that road, but never thought that the most of the roads were constructed with Ultratech Cement. Be it a road or a construction site, we can find Ultratech Cement everywhere. This was about just one brand of Aditya Birla Group, but Aditya Birla Group has touched all aspects of our lives in ways we have never even noticed. Not to forget, I wore Blazer of Peter England on the date of Interview of IIFT and converted the college. From Pantaloons to Allen Solly, Ralph Lauren to Hackett London and Van Heusen to Forever 21, all of us must be using one or more brands of Aditya Birla Group, but we hardly pay attention that how closely the company is attached with us, until I entered a B-school and was forced to pay attention to these minute details which piqued my interest and made ABG an aspiration for me.
How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
From 2015, I was working with Adani Gas Ltd, I had a stable job and life was simple. However, at the end of the day that my job was not challenging me enough and thus I decided to pursue my post-graduation to get better opportunities, to polish and become a better version of myself.
In 2017, I decided to start preparing for my entrance exam. Just as the year 2018 began, I was diagnosed with Tuberculosis. It took a toll on not only my health, but my confidence and my ability to perform was pretty shaken up as well. Managing my studies, job, treatment was an arduous task. But I gathered every strength I had and decided to face these things head on. Soon I was operated and the operation was successful. To recover faster and to keep my mind off things I focused on my studies.
However, the medicines were draining me physically and mentally. With everything I continued working hard and trying reaching my office targets along with my MBA preparations. Within 6 months I was declared fit and healthy and I had very little time to put my heart and soul into cracking the exams for a better future. And I could not let this shot go in vein, I had to succeed at what I started. Because failure this time meant waiting for another year for achieving the dream of a better future.
It gives me the utmost pride to say that through this all, finally, I did it. I cleared entrance exam with flying colors and here I am writing this article from my hostel room in IIFT, Delhi. 2018 was one of the toughest years, but I am a proud TB survivor and I still have the vigor and enthusiasm to make the best version of myself.
