ABG has a varied range of products which affects our lives positively on every level possible. The daily use products bring much added order to our routine without getting much of our attention and adds their value to it. From being the Aluminum wrap foil for my school lunch box to my Brother’s wedding suit, ABG products have been an Integral part of my life and has given me memories to cherish forever.
The Fashion and Retail enterprise of ABG is one of the elite clothing lines in India and all over the world. I remember the Two Louis Phillipe shirts gifted to me by my elder Brother on my first Birthday in college. They were not only some Shirts but they brought in a sign of maturity and responsibility, realization of change (a School kid to a College Student) in my life. The Shirts marked the beginning of new phase in my life and I still have them with me.
I have always been a Sports enthusiast. My love for basketball knows no limits. During my engineering days, I have played in many Inter-University Basketball tournaments and one such memorable tournament was of BITS (Birla Institute of Technology and Science) Pilani. The three-day tournament is one of the best tournaments I have ever participated in. It gave me a great exposure and helped me understand the importance of team work.
Hindalco, a Subsidiary of ABG, is one of the largest Aluminum and copper manufacturing company and biggest producer of aluminum in Asia. Aluminum, combined with other alloys is being used in Automobile and Machinery equipment. Our first car brought many moments of joy and happiness and excitement to us. My family together would go for trips in summer vacations and visit places around in it together. The car got old and bruised with time but it remained resilient in our journey as a family together, giving us many memories to cherish forever. The ABG conglomerate has been an indirect contributor to my father’s Automobile parts Business, thus helping in earning our bread and butter for us.
ABG group is one of those few Conglomerates who believes in extensive focus on innovation and research to bring specialty to their Products. Their vision in building business on integrity and humane values are the moral values I would like to incorporate in my social and professional life as a Manager in future and help in the betterment of weaker sections of our society.
‘How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far’
It takes a certain amount of discipline, focus and determination to achieve something meaningful in life. Any good success story is based on the foundation of passion and persistence but none of those point out the number of hours one spends failing and getting up and above it. Fantasizing on an outcome and pushing yourself with positive energies isn't enough to get to where one wants- it needs grit to go through immense mental and/or physical stress and pain; and unending effort to plough through challenging problems.
I remember when I started training for Basketball. I used to initially struggle to get the hang of dribbling the ball right. My coach was stringent and would make me do extra laps every time I missed my stepping or gave away a loose ball. It was excruciatingly painful and strenuous, yet, despite the exhaustion, I'd turn up every morning at 6 am for my coaching classes. I wanted to be a National Level Player and I paid attention to every detail that would take me there eventually.
There were days I played extremely well but I'd not learn anything new and there were days when I'd make the silliest of mistakes on court and come home dejected, drowned in angry spirits. Yet, it was the latter days that helped me get better, that helped me push myself and get to my goal. The game mattered enough to keep getting back to it, to start afresh every time I faltered.
Over time, I learnt the most valuable lessons of life coaching on that basketball court- I learnt that ambition and success doesn't come from dreaming or hoping or wanting. It doesn't even come from mere focus and determination. It comes from losing at something again and over till you start winning at it. It comes from countless mistakes and not giving up when it is easiest to do so.
