Part B- How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far

It is very easy to lose your calm and let anxiety take over when life throws challenges your way. It is in these moments that you make or break your life, the decisions you take during these critical moments shape your future. The only thing that you can do during such tough times is act rationally and not overthink about things that are not in your control.

Back in 2010, the organization where my father used to work at, started laying off employees and my father lost his job. Though it was temporary, the added pressure of my SSC board exams and the fact that my father was the sole bread winner of the family further increased my anxiety. I was not able to concentrate on my studies and spent a lot of time worrying about our future. There were times when my father had to borrow money from our relatives to pay our school fees. I let panic overpower me and lost a lot of weight during this time. I was always scared/worried and my class teacher noticed this and counselled me in school. With just two months for my board exams, I decided to take control of the situation and perform my best in the examination. I managed to top the boards and was awarded scholarship for securing first rank in Navi Mumbai. I then started taking tuition of school children to help support my family.

Becoming financially independent and supporting my family is my biggest ambition in life and this is what gives me the motivation during trying times. The best way to overcome challenges is to prioritize your options rationally and start working to convert those challenges into something beneficial. This is what I always do, no matter how big or small the problem is, prioritize my options and try to motivate myself to perform my best.
